If I remember well, ApolloOS CAN boot from SD with some proper tools. I think these tools were on previous pages...gonna check better.

Well, there is SD Card boot tool, but it requires exact certain file sys formatting. If by any chance ApolloOS boot partition is not of proper format it wont boot.

It currently supports following DosTypes:
DosType  Filesystem  Handler
0x444f5303 (DOS\3)  Amiga FFS file system (intl., no dir cache)  L:FastFileSystem
0x50445303 (PDS\3)  Amiga PFS file system 3, SCSIdirect  L:pfs3_aio-handler
0x50465303 (PFS\3)  Amiga PFS file system 3  L:pfs3_aio-handler
0x46415401 (FAT\1)  FAT32 file system  L:fat95

Its not official, its interim solution.

So this problems would be the same in ClassicWBs or any other resolution?

Yes, we can say its small hardware glitch, and different boards seems to be affected differently - you can try, but if system goes unstable, simply lower the P96 resolution.

Well, miniMON and calendar have been disabled.
  I'll wait for 2.7 then...

Just for this few apps. Rest of ApolloOS works fine.

I'm really happy with ApolloOS beside the fact that is uses the old 3.1 drawer style. What's the reason for that or is it possible switch to the new OS3.9 style? (like BetterWB)

What do you mean "drawer style"? Icon style? Just replace the icons then? If you want to change the default "style", just replace the icon images in envarc:sys/def_#?.info files, drawer is there among them.

That will also require "new icons" to be installed in order to work.
If it is installed with ApolloOS then ok

You are right - the style of 3.1 icons is the problem.

  Totally right.
It is packed with a WHDLoad complete collection.
Anyway, when I try to open Games: in Programs dir, I get this error:

PFS-III error request wrote:

  PFS-III error request
  Device DH1:
  Alert: Wrong Ablock ID.

And If I try to erase a game I don't need, ApolloOS tells me DH1: is write protected.

  I use a SanDisk 32gb SD with a DeLock IDE2SD adapter.

I have the same CF card and also see this error. It doesn't seem to impact whether the games load or not, so I'm okay with it for now (until I find there's not enough space on the card for new stuff -- which is going to QUITE A WHILE -- LOL).

Does anyone know of a PFS "scandisk" utility?

repair tool should be included with the filesystem. pfs doctor or something like that. didnt have to check for it in a while.

PFSDoctor is included in the old/full PFS3 package here:

Installed and ran -- Games folder under WHDLoad is now completely empty. At least the errors are gone too. Something fishy about this ApolloOS image.

you can use qemu-img to convert to a vhd file and then open in winuae

qemu-img.exe convert {PATH}ApolloOS_CF32GB_r43P.img -O vpc {PATH}ApolloOS_CF32GB_r43P.vhd

It would be worth not to use DHx as its likely to conflict maybe AODHx

I also i'm getting the error when i was doing a dir size in Winuae

PFS-III error request
Device DH1:
Alert: Wrong Ablock ID.

One more request for ApolloOS. Hope to see updated release with no corrupt files. Simple danger of partition imaging - if something is wrong with SOURCE will be with all DESTINATION(s).

Another proper request, some New/Glow/Masonic etc. icons should be installed, since WB is RTG out, not ECS.

The main system files of Apollo OS and Programs will fit on a 4GB SD or CF card. I've done that (I'm using a 2GB CF card). The main system files and the game files can be separated into two images, one large (32GB) and the other less than 2GB. A 4GB image of the main files would be better than a 2GB image by offering more free space on the resulting disk.

The majority of the rest of the 32GB of data are multimedia and games which could be in a separate download file, perhaps an ISO image that can be mounted using Amiga DiskImage to copy selected files at a later time. Or the multimedia and games image could be written to a 32GB microSD for use with the onboard SAGA SD card reader.

Fully agreed. Cleaner "OS and productivity" and "Multimedia rich" editions should exist. It would make procedure of download, writte image faster, OS cleaner and life for those with 4gb cards or partitions bearable and able to use it.

I just hope unknown hero/author reads this.

Yeah getting the same thing here with v43 invalid block ID, but thought it was my copying to a 64gb sd card and then manually copying everything to the 32gb “disk on module” unit sat on the v500’s 44pin ide header. Replicated the file systems and partition layout on the dom unit to mimic the sd card.

The v42 install I have on a cf card in my a600 doesn’t have these issues so thought it was just me.

However, for all the work that’s gone into it I’ll happily suck down any issues till next release, or maybe just re image back to v42

Having trimmed down in size/non corrupted image uploaded at Torrents and FTP with those few wises included (PFS doctor, better icons ...) would be most welclome.
