There are several methods to obtain a new scsi-device.
On Aminet there are patches to fix the 3.1 scsi.device and make it recognize harddisk greater than 4GB.

I think the simply method is to search or pick an updated scsi.device from a Kickstart 3.1.4 or recente 3.2.1 and use it with LoadModule command.

You can find LoadModule on Aminet. The synthax from the shell is:

  > LoadModule DEVS:scsi.device

But if you want to use it on a WB3.1 disk you need to have the space to copy the scsi.device in DEVS and the LoadModule command in C.
The you have to modify the Startup-Sequence with the string above.

LoadModule: EXTERNAL LINK  FFSTD64: EXTERNAL LINK  SCSI device patch: EXTERNAL LINK
But I prefer the scsi.device from an OS 3.5/3.9 or recent 3.2

Yes correct.

Kickstart OS 3.10 from Coffin also includes 64bit support.
