There seems to be some resentments from some authors.

Is it true that this piece of software actively blocks Vampire systems?

I don't know what is wrong on this guy's head, but he seems to have a problem to accept Vampire's existance. His previous software had an anti-coffin protection that deliberately blocked the software if detected a Vampire system behind.
That's just a silly and infantile behavior (to be kind)
I'm pretty sure we can survive without the software of this guy..

Where do you see that in this post?

I've also seen that protection on his MUImapparium and LEU software. It's indeed so childish that I won't bother anymore to try out any of his software.

I believe there was some hiccup about FPU that he got a bit upset about.

MUI Mapparium is nice software, too bad.

MC Amiga ... I prefer Dopus 4 or 5 style.

Very strange, he seems to have Vampire

Let the Flame Wars begin, a new Round with Frehh Hardware vs. abdoned.

In the Past:
AmigaOS4 vs. MorphOS

and now the same situation with Vampire Users? This is the Holy Gral of Bullshit

he explained the MUIMapparium case in this EAB Thread

You can agree or not, but in the end it's his decision.

Wow, a whole new level of childishness.
Haven't seen this coming. I can understand he has issues with the FPU in the past, but this is plain bullshit.

Independent if you like Vampire systems or not or if you think it's illegal or whatever assumption you make, you shouldn't act in such a stupid way.

Sean SK, thanks for objecting him in proper direction (completely blocking Vamps regardless of OS ???)

Is there older MUI Mapparium that does NOT include this "%$Z!$"?

e.g. 0.6 No FPU used to work, 0.7 likely with 0.8 he included "protection".

Yes, Vojin, older version didn't have the anti-coffin idiotic protection
Ps: if you use Coffin on Winuae his programs works, so it's not an anti-coffin protection but an anti-vampire protection.
Pps: I deliberately activated an anti-crap protection on my Amigas for avoiding to be infected by this guy's malicious software :P

Ye, first let's complain for 20 years that we don't have new decent hardware and when you finally get it why not create another conspiracy theory to slow things down as much is possible and once again divide community.

Igor:

sure you can look it that way.

But whats wrong with considering giving up on Coffin? It's really bad, hurting Vampires reputation not only with this developer, but Amiga-wide community.
And you have to admit, his Software is on Coffin, I guess without his permission. It's very sad to see that he thinks he is forced to take such a step. I do not agree, but I kind of understand it.

so you could also say:
We always complain that we have not enough developer but the ones we have, we annoy by publishing his/her software without consent and if he/she fights against it, we call him/her childish.

But is Coffin not excellent made to help Amiga users?
We have to admit, Amiga OS is not easy to install, and a lot work to bring up to date with datatypes and driver etc.

So this is really a big complex task which is challenging for many.

I think Coffin does an excellent job here to make Amiga easy again.

And legally Coffin is not that bad as you say.
Its a collection of abandon ware - which is legal to share.

Gunnar:

I did not talk about the legality (and if he doesn't want his software on Coffin it's his right and then it is not legal, and his software is not abandon ware)
I talk about the impression it makes to community and if you speak with people outside the vampire community they cannot understand why Vampire is doing that, tainting it's own reputation.

And this would've been so easy, take AmiKit,BetterWB or so, add the 3.1 Files from the OS3.1 Licenses you bought at Amiga34 (as I read in the news) add vampire stuff and demos, Sysinfo, Riva, roadshow demo and so on and done. You have a 100% legal version as standard proven to work version, which does not annoy half the community.

Actually, I not see this annoyment in the community at all.
And I literally spoke to many hundreds of Amiga fans.

But let get us back to the topic of this thread.

The real problem of this coder is that he had features wishes, or demands for the Vampire which were ignored. And this is why is is behaving like this.

At least it's open source and someone could fork and create a Vampire-friendly version.

sorry that is nonsense from him

I am fine with it not supporting coffin

but blocking vampire means blocking anything including aros 68k

so he blocks vampire then I remove FPC from my distribution too

no problem but childish. I cannot understand people...

@Gunnar

Abandonware is no official legal status as you certainly know

it only describes that finally noone cares about it

his software (as far as I know) are ports so it depends on the licenses if you need permission to include it somewhere else or not

Gernt it is silly behaviour

he could check if coffin is there or not but checking for hardware he punishes everyone using vampire

Taking half year to recreate such distro by hand :)

And what about his sw not working on e.g. OS 3.1.4 on Vamp or soon as done AmiKit on Vampire?

Olaf will have to exclude it, as explained. And this guys software was supposed to be FLOSS, so "no piracy case here".

As opposed e.g. if he declared here he does not want his sw included in Coffin here it would be removed since.

I much more amazed by amiga.de stance Nov 2019
EXTERNAL LINK      (news posted by  Christoph Gutjahr)

Even that claim admits "includes ... that USED to be distributed commercially"

Given example: Maxon Cinema 4D - nice rendering software, but unavailable to buy. I would have to hunt collectible at extreme price or resort to hunting pirated version anyway.

Worms DC - Great game, but the same.

Haage - fails to even put on website OS 3.9 ever existed or where to buy.

I fail to understand that we are suddenly such legal experts plus that we fail to make a decent and modern AmigaOS distro in decades. Depends what do you see as problem.
