Why don't you use AfA OS extension instead of VisualPrefs?

Why not trying Aminet?

  EXTERNAL LINK
Requires: FPU, fast processor, RTG card, 2+ MB RAM, OS 3.5+ recommended

Edit: If Aminet one does not work, there is afaOne 438MB more current one EXTERNAL LINK but its tested under UAE so far

Ok so found it and installed it on my Coffin OS install and now the system dosnt boot! I have tried to restore from back up using the Coffin maintenance mode and it just keeps booting backing to recovery needless to say I am really miffed now as other than the Visual prefs issue I have the system customized and working exactly how I wanted it! so before I spend hours reconfiguring a new Coffin install how do I get this AFA_OS to work on a clean Coffin install?

Thanks but that's way too much of a faff... why isn't there a ready to write image or simple installer? Anyway seeing as that's beyond my scope any idea on how to make visual prefs work reliably?

I am not the author, however there is the installer, just missing to add the comadi in the Startup-sequence.

The manual installation is important because it allows you to understand well how it works ;)

It is much more complicated to install VisualPres :)

not when its already installed! I am using coffin. and yes I added the command to the startup-sequence I am not a total amiga novice just wanted something a bit easier than what the video you shared shows - like an image to write to cf/sd like coffin.

AfA OS is much more advanced, look at the graphical details on the windows, no defects, then with AfA OS you don't need to restart the system every time you change a theme!

Not sure if related, but always remember to give time for PFS3 to flush cache into disk before reboot or power cycle. 10sec on idle should be enough to wait that happen.

It may be that you save in the wrong place, save in RAM and then overwrite the old setting.

Regarding AfA OS do first if you follow my video, it seems difficult but it is only a few steps.

Ok I will start over in use with a fresh coffin image and try and follow the video... how big do you think the dh0 Partion needs to be as when I tried to copy the afa_os before it failed as it said the drive was full.

AfA OS contains about 10MB of data, if you have a big disk and it gives you a full disk you have some problems on the "big partitions". What operating system did you use to create the partitions ?
