| I won't necessarily disagree with your assessment of these websites, but I have to say that there is a market for those that would rather be able to buy a prepackaged image. I know that if it were not for AmiKit, I would have not learned what I know now. I can build a machine from the ground up now, but not before AmiKit. There is a large learning curve to overcome for those that have no or very little knowledge of the workings of the Amiga. I empathize with Mark on this one. Let's all be kind to one another.

I have to agree with you. After spending 30+ years supporting Windows/MacOS/Linux, I don't have the time to re-learn all the ins-and-outs of classic AmigaOS. I'd rather just pay a reasonable price for a pre-configured CF or SD card that is plug-and-play and go from there. I also see nothing wrong with it in light of the fact that I have 4 licensed copies of AmigaOS that shipped with my now long-dead Amigas. The only Amiga that I still own that is functional is an A1200 and even it will be shelved once I have a standalone Vampire.

| Hi there I have ordered my V1200 card and waiting for it. So i am preparing the ground for it and saw on this website (nopiracelinkshere)various distros being sold but all of them are for V500 or V600 boards. Can i order those for mine or shall i wait for a specific one for my V1200. I am also planning to download the R54 version (apolloos.weebly.com)and burn a CF card myself tonight. Are there diferent versions of that R54 or there is only one version capable to run on all V2 boards? I love how everything is put together and configured/optimized for the vampire. Thanks in advance Nikos

| If you want to use Coffin (which makes ILLEGAL use of AmigaOS3.9 and most likely many other installed software), just download it for free (download link is probably floating around on this forum). Don't pay for it to somebody who is selling warez and additionally earns money over the back of the people who put all time and effort in creating Coffin in the first place.

| I dont usually use software illegaly and so far all the years i have been using all Amiga OS and other software by purchasing them. Just now with the Vampire i love the way it is all put together with all these programs, fine tuning, optimized, screen modes, drivers, scripts and so much more. Alone i wouldn't be able to do this and reach that level of customization and tuning in a 100 years. From what i understand the free way seems easy enough to do it alone. Just use winimage to get the Coffin OS on a 32GB cf card.

| Yes, it's as easy as that :) You may need to upgrade the Vampire drivers etc. Not sure if the Coffin package manager can deal with that.

| Thanks Tim for your reply. CF card ready and flashed with Coffin. Waiting for my V1200 now to test it. By Vampire drivers you mean the core? I have the usb blaster for that in case i need to bring to the latest core.

And what is LEGAL way of use of OS 3.9, if one has legal copy?? Same for included sw, anything currently on sale? I acknowledge IP infrigment of only things in development (no BBs for decades for OS 3.9) and on sale. I cannot hurt M$ anymore by using non paid MS DOS, cant I?

It doesn't matter how much you try to justify yourself, it's still illegal whether you like to admit it or not. It's just whether or not these companies can be bothered pursuing legal action over old software.

| No one knows who owns what now in AMIGA land. We not even know if the stuff Hyperion sells if even legal at all. The only thing I know is that AROS is legal. So if you wanna save the world then go for AROS.

No, I mean SAGA driver. I'm sure the Coffin image does not contain the newest version of the SAGA driver. Whether there is a newer core available than the one in your upcoming V1200 can be the case too, but that is not really Coffin related.

| Coffin image was released around October last year so there is no way it can include the SAGA drivers that were released in December!

Mmmmm, I looked in Coffin, I can't find any actually still sold software on it. I mean, sure, there is Roadshow, but this is a demo version, not the full version. Fore sure, there are old software not developped or not sold anymore, but actual software, I don't see them. Can you tell me some exemples, maybe I didn't saw them ? I have the feeling that having a demo version, like Roadshow, will in fact increase the selling of this particular software. Amigans will pay to have the regular key and get ride of the limitation of the demo, don't you think ?

| The miltiple "!!!!!!" everywhere makes it quite obvious who runs that site. EDIT: And both websites share the same about-section and the picture of the CF-card is the same on both sites...

Agreed. Wish the folks in charge would just delete this entire thread and ban this guy. It's pretty obvious what he's doing.

| it looks like this person sells aros vision from my page but this version certainly not runs on vampire but just on UAE And it is illegal and without permission Unbelievable And even if asked I would never give permission to sell it because of the software includedhe calls it caffeine but from the look it is (the old) aros vision. The person certainly never tested it on V4

Yes I think its a disgrace to the Amiga Community as a whole people gang up on other persons or ban people for what?Mentioning something its a public place people can say what they want and inform others of their experiences, but it seems to be out there now like everything whats the point of owning the product without software backup etc downloads and public domain etc you better off closing the whole internet down as they both go in hand in hand. I think its a great service this person is doing and is for certain people who dont want to download 30 year old bit of software, on a retro computer system! and mess around with getting to work its a plug and play world now and everything should work out of the Box. I am glad i bought my copy of coffin as i did not know where to get it from in the first place. So clam down boys and girls dont pull your hair out its agood idea brilliant!!!!!
