| EXTERNAL LINK This guy that sells Coffin will damage apollo-team reputation.. From the description it seems he included even a full "licensed" tcp-ip stack..Olaf Barthel will not be happy at all..

| Is that the link Mark is referring too as well? The site that offers Coffin for free is still offering R54 and showing the R55 soon for weeks now. I assume (hope) we will see a V4 Coffin very soon :)

| The dodgy individual who runs that website tries to get around the legal issues by claiming that you’re only paying for the service of having the OS pre-installed on an SD Card if you’re unable to do it yourself. Nevertheless this is not good at all.

| Why buy it when you can download it from the source here? EXTERNAL LINK The TCPIP stack included is a TRIAL version of Roadshow. You have to provide your own file from the registered version in order to make it work longer than 10 minutes. (Which I did buy). Same with MUI.

What card are you trying it on? What are you using to write it? On the mac I use a tool called "ApplePi-Baker" (same tool I use for writing RasPi images). You need a 32GB (or bigger) card. What are you using for reader for the IDE? PLEASE tell me you aren't expecting to put this onto a microSD and put just that into the Vampire's MicroSD socket and boot.... That won't work. You need either a CF-->IDE or SD-->IDE adapter to boot up the Vampire...

You...my friend....is the reason why such website exist. You are not alone. There are millions of people like you who would pay 29.99 euro to have it mailed to you, pre-flashed, instead of doing it yourself and save the 29.99 for yourself. Perhaps if you actually spend sometime and effort and learned a bit more in computers than just to turn it on, these scam websites will not have customers to whom they can buy from. Look at his website...RED...it is not even professional done. Any website that looks like that...I run away from in a heart beat. It screams fake and scam to me and unreliable source.

| Local grocery stores sell sliced up fruit and vegetables and it is not cheap. Some people have more time than money or just don't want to be bothered. It takes all kinds I suppose.

yeah, its completely legitimate to sell nicely cut up fruits stolen from other people gardens while they looked the other was to yuppies who barely even have time to eat them.

| So is this guy breaking the law or is he doing something unethical? So far the Coffin OS is supposedly suspect in legality, like most Amiga things these days. I could round up a ton of adf images and put ithem on a card and sell to a few people. So what.

Most people's issue with it is that they have included software that is still commercially available. Stuff that isn't available any more or that developers have disowned or happy for it to be used for free is one thing. Software that is still available different. There has been quite a few requests from developers to have their software removed from the package. The other issue people have is when people charge an excessive markup for something that is free. Like this guy for example... £29.99 for a £4.99, so is effectively charging £25 for a package downloaded off the internet which takes 4 mouse clicks to put on an SD card. There's still alot of people in the Amiga community who support developers. If stuff like this goes on, then where is the encouragement for them to continue to develop. In all honesty I haven't even looked at Coffin since it was known as ApolloOS as it was a mess, and a pretty bloated setup. And back the it had alot more stuff that has since been removed due to licence/piracy issues. I'm personally for supporting developers and not those wishing to cash in on other people's work, whether it's the developers, or simply the people who put the package together and gave it away for.... FREE!! (Oh and if course this guy's made 6 posts, all of which seem to be recommending this seller and how good it is, so looks a bit suspect that they maybe the one behind it)

Yeah that thought had crossed my mind as well. His way over-the-top excitement about the website makes him sound like that annoying Retrocengo guy on Youtube. Mark, if all you're here to do is advertise an illegal website, then please kindly stop now.
