Vampire 600 v2, Gold 2.9.

  Shapeshifter:

OS 8.X - error message (in the Mac OS while still booting)
OS 7.X - freezes at splash screen.

  STonAmiga:

First attempt to run - nothing happens. Double-click again - reboots the system.

Ok. Are you on the same setup as mine?

EDIT: My Gold 2.9 is x10, as I don't have USB Blaster.

Thank you for the feedback. Any idea what the reason might be in my case?

Without more details posted, it's quite difficult to identify the reason

CF or SD ?
Which CF/SD adapter ?
Recapped A600 ?
Network ?
Clean coffin or modified ?
etc.

CF: EXTERNAL LINK
Adapter: EXTERNAL LINK
No network

Recapped A600

Clean Coffin

Only difference I see there is that I am using a single-CF adapter

Yes, the adapter might be dodgy. I'll get a new directly connected one.

Damn, I have just tried a new adapter (a really good quality one, directly connected to motherboard) and the problems are exactly the same.

Any other tips on what I should check?

No idea. Should you try to reimage your CF with a clean coffin image ?

Tried a few times, the same.

Checked on another A600 - the same.

So it's either the CF card, CF to PC (USB) adapter or the Vampire itself.

Now I think the flashes (of Coffin to CF) might be bad, as the errors differ slightly after each flash. Will get a better CF to USB adpter tomorrow.

Mine does the exact same thing.  Initial launch, nothing happens - launch again, reboots.  However, Shapeshifter works perfectly.  This is only for STonAmiga.  500 v2 (not plus) in a 1000 with Core 2.9 and Coffin (unmodified) r51.

Same for me. Shapeshifter works. ST emulator doesn't start. I have a v600v2 with core 2.9 x12

Now I noticed that more things are not working, eg. MSX emulator which worked well before (now same story as with STonAmiga) and Quake 1. That may eliminate the Vampire card as faulty.

The CF card is a good one I suppose.

In my CF to USB adapter, which I use to flash Coffin to CF card, I lost one pin a few days ago. It has been working, so I did not bother, but maybe because of that some errors in the file system appear.

I'm going to report back tomorrow after I flash Coffin with the new, better nad more modern, CF to USB adapter.

At worst, I will be looking for somebody who I can send my Vampire card to for testing.

i definitly think there is some issue regarding emulation as alot of people report these issues with mac emulation, ive had alot of issues with it aswell.. now if thats software, core or coffin that causing is the issue i dont know.. but something is for sure not working right for alot of people. lets hope that is something thats fixable by team and not something thats out of their hands with the software side of things.

Same here , STonAmiga won’t start.

The pictures gallery crashes the Amiga too.

  I’ll investigate tomorrow...

Try deleting the file StonX_modes from Envarc:
This will call the Screen modes requester when you run the emulator for the first time. Make sure the modes you selected works with your monitor.

Some other problems MIGHT be screen mode related.

Other, a bit more complex operation, would be to delete or modify picasso modes your monitor isnt compatibile with (beside deleting ENV: entries of problematic program).

Sometimes those that came with Coffin arent "out of box" compatibile with all monitors. NeoGeo also needs  304x224 resolution in 16bit.

Its a step people used to do manually, before Coffin.

Pictures are from Epsilons review of Vamp2 using CORE2 and manually updating WB. Test with your VDU before saving!
