Hear you have problems keeping up with demand.  A good place to be...maybe.  Have you tried this place ?    EXTERNAL LINK

Maybe other people can check around and provide possibilities.

I'm quite far down the pre-order list, so this is great news to read indeed.

Is this for the 500\2000 model, 600 or both?

Well, this is definetly not an one man job.
I just don't understand why production is in Canada. Most amiga users are in EU. So we have to pay high postage fees and high taxes. I believe it would be better to have production in EU only.
Because USA, Australia and some other countries don't pay taxes for this kind of hardware.

You have to start somewhere an kipper2k is already experienced at providing hardware to the Amiga market, not many people still do that anywhere else.

I wonder what happens if Mr. Kipper gets sick, or just decides to not do this anymore.

As explained before, we are working on higher volume production now, both in Europe and abroad.

If the price is right.  There is no reason why they can't outsource production to any continent or area.

They are smart people, obviously.

The more research and options we can give them for possible production possibilities, the better.

In the end, it's their decision.

i have answered this so many times... you still have to pay taxes if purchased in local country. and sometimes it does not go through customs. All countries have import fees. and having the board manufactured in the EU will increase the production cost by 30% so how do you expect to save money. ??

Do the math, it will cost 50% more based on EU prices and taxes.

p.s. I am not allowed to get sick

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough.  If they find suitable board manufacturers, they can have them produced in multiple areas/zone/continents.

In the end, it's their design, their work, their final responsibility.

They have made great decisions and progress to date.

Let them do their stuff.  Provide alternate or additional manufacture sources if you can.

It's all part of helping out, even if it's in little ways.

As the OP in this thread.  I came across macrofab in Houston Texas.  They have a very interesting setup.  I thought it was interesting in view of the current limited production.  Gunnar may have already dismissed it, or already made other decisions.  That is O.k.  At least he is now aware of it even if he wasn't before.

All I am trying to do is provide options, or possibilities.  It is up to the team to check if they are suitable by price etc. and make their decisions.  Basically, the more eyes, the better as far as I am concerned.

Yes, I realize.

The best we can do is research and find PCB, start to finish, production facilities and let the team know.

Let them focus on making the Vampire better, expand to other Amiga's like the A500, A1200, A2000 etc. whilst they spend the minimum of time working with partners to actually produce the hardware.  (within their price range).

Stay focused on what they are good at.  Making PCB's after the first few must be incredibly tedious.

The thing is, the pcbs cannot be completely done by a board house, the cpu socket needs to be custom fit and through hole connectors are not done by board houses, you also need to pay their prices for parts (and they like to make a profit on that too, just like mechanics)

Did you even look at the first link.  The site and the features and demo.

  Apparently, Macrofab does.

That is what made it so interesting.

  Check out their demo.

Besides, it's up to Gunnar and the team to figure it out.

  I just gave a lead.

they wont do the socket, it is etched and cut inside in order to fit

The more eyes the better.  Well i think so.

Don't know how else to contribute.

We have the base dev v500 out to selected testers, it does work well (on a500, a1000 and a2000). it is actually faster than the v600 due to ide speed being 4x faster. Once we have the v500+ version ready to roll you will see the preorders open up
