Hello everyone, I recently received the Vampire 500 V2 + core 2.11, I would like to know if and when the Core 3.0 will be released, to implement the AGA.
Thank you

No set dates, likely AFTER the Vamp standalone goes public.

"well". And when will the standalone V4 become public? We only hope that the support for the Vampire 500 V2 + will not be abandoned. Thank you

There is an alpha core with aga (but no Rtg)
EXTERNAL LINK  You need a usb blaster to load the core on Vampire
It's alpha stage, so it's just a glimpse of the definitive one

I suppose "when core is ready" - and most of V4 SAGA core could be refitted back to V2 (minus larger cache, full Apollo higher precision FPU and few tricks). So in a part V4 progress is your V2 core progress too.

  Team should give the definite answer, but sequence looks a bit like

  * Standalone V4
  * V4 for A500 and A1200
  * Gold 3 core for V2

  So no, V2 will not be forgotten, but bringing V4 gen is now a priority.

Anything worth having is worth waiting for.
Remember this team do this in their spare time which is very little after they juggle their fulltime jobs and family life.
I am 66 years old. I have been waiting for something like Vampire to come along since about 1995. I bought an a500 V2 to support them and am looking forward to the V4. I have backed the Checkmate A1500 plus case from Stephen Jones but I am patient and we must all be patient to see this through. The wait will be worth it.
Don't hassle the Team please.
As Vojin said. It will be ready when it is ready.
Alan from Australia

Dear Alan, it was not my intention to bother anyone, I just bought a product and I wanted some information. If it is a problem for them to respond, maybe they should close the forum.

I'm hoping for sometime this year for the V4 and then hopefully a version of the core for the V2.
At the very least they have a version of it in Alpha that runs on the V2, so good chance that its being developed in tandem.

Hi Erik,

Perhaps I was too over bearing so I am sorry if I caused any offence.
I guess it is that many have asked  and wanted extras and it really is a pressure on this great team to get us to where we are today that I get a little defensive. I really want to see this develop and even possibly go further than some may not yet realise. There is great potential in this project and the last thing I want to see is for the team members "pack up their marbles and go home."
Most of your questions can probably be answered by reading the posts. Just click on the tabs above to read posts from different areas such as latest News etcetera.
Currently Core 3 is in Alpha stage and being tested and tweaked for us. The team wanted it to be out last year but there have been some programming challenges they have had to overcome. So it does take time. It may take a month it may take 3 months. We must be patient.
I would rather have something that works than something that is not quite finished.
But having said that even once we get Core 3 there will still be updates to it. They are to correct possible bugs or add new features.
I hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Alan Haynes from Australia

I have been here but have not seen your name perhaps since the Natami days?

  Everywhere in capitalism, its a normal statement. Big companies usually "walk around unpleasant stuff".

  Here is a bit unusual market, product, company etc. and patience is advised.

  as said, gold3 core for v2 is avail for public testing with severe limitations. Rest is matter of time and labor of love.

  However, strangely most of promises have been delivered so far.

  Try asking Hype for info on OS 4.2, prepaid with A1-x1000 >:)

Two more weeks. tm ;)
Read the vampire team updates for (insert month here) (insert year here).
They will inform you better than we can. Under the news section of the forums.
Asking us won't render a better answer than the team reports by Renauld.

I’m sorry to have to break it to you but this is not Apple , Microsoft or any other major company. Patients is the key here, the vampire team are small and this work is done part time as far as I know. Just be patient. Look at the latest team posts for updates - that’s what we all do.

Probably v4 then Aga core to be released.
More OCS cores are coming too.

Mike.

I’m still massively enjoying my v2.  It sweetens the waiting! I’ve been following progress ever since the Natami was announced. Feels like ages ago. Suddenly I’m feeling old 😨 anyways, sit back and enjoy. It’s going to happen!

I recently got my Vampire v2+, since I was able to order it from an online store, I've withdrawn my interest from the wait-list. Core 2.11 is fine and not buggy, but switching between monitor and TV made it painful for me. So the next logical step away flashing Core 3. Right away the floppy stopped working, and switching screen to the wide mode,resulted in garbage on screen. Perhaps someone can set up a github repo and track the issues there.
Is there a registration page to register your vampire or maybe a way to get access to more recent cores and test some particular areas?

  Gold 3 is alpha for the V2.
  If you read the disclaimer on download, it stated right before giving the link to download that floppy not working was one of issues with it. RTG and FPU also doesn't work with this alpha version.

In a future release it may be possible to have some of these features working, but my guess bringing up the V4 vampire is taking all the developing bandwidth.

I was just saying that leaving an alpha release with virtually no insight into what bugs have already been reported is suboptimal. Perhaps, we can set up go fund me or some other donation scheme to speed up the development. It sucks when you just bought a piece of hard to obtain hardware, and you have to wait for the next version that has no clear release date to get services first. Therefore, let's fund development, how's that?

  Really nice idea. But team seems to be "as-is" and I doubt any fund can really boost development. Core 2.12 should be there soon, and seems CORE3 for V2 is lesser priority then V4 Standalone and V4 debut at least for A500, that is also already under test.

At least Jesus has both :) EXTERNAL LINK
  I do agree at least one more improved beta gold3 that fixes some of the issues (resolution limit too, that is not yet full AGA) would be most welcome. But I would be happy to see that this year.
