I've just flashed my v500+ with BETA of GOLD3.0 and I can say only one thing!

IT'S ALIVE!!!

I'm so glad that you did it! It's so great to run games from my childhood, 25 years later, on a Amiga500! <really close to cry from happiness> ;-)

So has anyone had a crack at getting the 3.1.4 ROMs to work with GOLD 3 at all?  Just curious.  I tried the A1200 ROM as suggested by hyperion but I just get a yellow screen with a blue box.  Maybe someone has worked out how to make it work?

And yes, I know the wiki says Core 2.10 only and that no other combination (Core + ROM) has been tested.  But there are some clever cookies out there in Vampire land.  And perhaps just one has made it work.  Just curious.

Dont try OS 3.1.4 ROM with experimental cores. That simple. in their own FAQ they arent suggested for emulators either.

Not quite.  They provide a ROM for emulation with the disclaimer that it may not work.  They don't suggest at all that it isn't for emulation.

    Because............?
It is just a question.  If someone had it working, then great!  If it simply isn't compatible/working with the Core 3 alpha that is also fine.  The alpha works with some sort of KS so it isn't unreasonable, given the recent release of 3.1.4, that this question is asked.  It isn't like the world will collapse because it doesn't work (yet).  We all know that alphas are a work in progress and bugs/incompatibilities are expected.  The included ROM of Core 3 is more than enough.  Just was curious is all.

Keep in mind that current GOLD3 Alpha predates 3.1.x ROM and thus is not supposed to work at all. That might and should change with further releases.

... True, its essentially targeted at emu market too, but then we put a nice fat disclaimer ...

I currently have 2.11 working on my A600 with Vampire 2 with CAP upgrade.  The AGA Alpha did not work.  Black screen. No vampire logo either.  I disconnected everything but the vampire and the DIGITAL-VIDEO.  No go.

Any ideas?  Could it be my monitor does not like the DIGITAL-VIDEO output?

Flash back to 2.11, change the Resolution via Screenmode to PAL (640x200) and delete Overscan.prefs (there are Youtube Videos that show what you have to do) Then Flash to v3.0 Alpha core. It´s not starting every time, so turn off, wait 10 seconds and turn on again! A connected Power LED can help, in Error Situation the LED blinks.(Not On/Off, it´s more bright/ then normal)

For Testing, it´s the best, when you first start without any Drives, you should see the "Please Insert Disk" Animation on your Screen when everything is fine. I´m not sure but I think the V3 Alpha has no Boot Logo...?!? You can only see dark screen and the Scanlines when you turn on your Amiga.(looks like an old CRT with black Picture)and then when no drives attached the "Insert Disk" as described above.
