Usually people miss some important step, like running app as admin  Power OFF your Amiga before connecting the USB-Blaster device and then having connected Vamp powered on. Then when its done Power OFF your Amiga and wait at least 10 seconds. Finally, Power ON your Amiga.

  Here is step-by-step guide:

NEVER switch off the computer during a flash operation.
NEVER flash undedicated cores on a Vampire board :
      Do NOT flash, for example, a core dedicated to V600 V2 on a V600 V1 or V500 V2+.
DO NOT use your Operating-System during a flash operation.
ALWAYS have a copy of the previous working core.
Having copy will be useful in case of severe bugs in new release.
BETTER to have a ready-to-use USB-Blaster in case of serious issue.

  Where to buy USB-Blaster

ALTERA USB-Blaster device can be found easily on many Online Shops. Estimated price is between 4USD to 15USD. Just ensure it is compatible with ALTERA Cyclone III FPGAs, and provided with :

      The USB-Blaster device itself.
      The JTAG cable.
      The Mini-USB to USB cable.

For example, search this item on ebay or amazon :

      EBay.com >> ALTERA+USB-Blaster
      Amazon.com >> ALTERA+USB-Blaster

How to connect USB-Blaster to Vampire board

Below is the full connection chain to use :

  (1) PC ⇒ (2) USB to Mini-USB cable ⇒ (3) USB-Blaster device ⇒ (4) JTAG cable ⇒ (5) Vampire JTAG header

POWER OFF your Amiga, NEVER connect or disconnect the USB-Blaster while your Amiga is powered on !

How to install Quartus II Programmer

Download ALTERA Quartus II Web Edition.
Take care of what you download on the Altera WebSite.
You do NOT need the FULL Quartus application. Avoid the >1GB setup !
What you need is called exactely Altera Quartus II 13.1 Programmer. It is about 200MB.
There are different versions for Linux and for Windows, tested Ok on Windows 10.
There are different versions for different Cyclone FPGAs.
Ensure you selected the one that is compatible with the Cyclone III FPGA.
Install the Altera Quartus II 13.1 Programmer setup on your computer.
You might need to install by hand the USB driver for the USB-Blaster.

On Windows, open the Device Manager and ensure that the USB Driver for USB-Blaster is correctly installed. If it is NOT correctly installed, then select the .INF driver information file from the Quartus setup archive.

How to flash the Vampire from Quartus

Power OFF your Amiga before connecting the USB-Blaster device.
Connect the USB-Blaster to the Vampire JTAG header using the JTAG cable.
Connect the USB-Blaster to the PC using the Mini-USB to USB cable.
The 'POWER' LED on the USB-Blaster should be 'Red'.
      Open Quartus II Programmer.
      Click the 'Hardware Setup' button.
Select the USB-Blaster item in hardware device list.
Click 'Add file' and select a .JIC file to flash on the Vampire board.
NEVER USE a .JIC file that is not dedicated to your hardware. It might DESTROY your FPGA.
Check the 'Program/Configure' and 'Verify' options. See picture below.
FYI, by selecting Erase checkbox, Vampire FPGA will emptied. So that the Amiga will boot on built-in CPU (V600).
      Power ON your Amiga
      Click 'Start' button.
Your Amiga will freeze or reboot on built-in CPU during this process.
Wait until flashing is finished, '100% (Successful)'. It takes about 1 or 2 minutes.
Power OFF your Amiga and wait at least 10 seconds.
      Finally, Power ON your Amiga.

thx for all theses informations.
I tried with Quartus 13.1 programmer only, and it works. :)

My V600 works now with the 2.9. ouf !

Any guide/info around on how to get the emuTOS up and running? because i assume it has to be installed and setup first before the "press firebuttons at boot to start emutos" will work? do we run it from floppy? joystick in port 2? one fire button pressed or both?

Edit: i write i assume thats the case because when i try it i just get broken workbench :) and i have core 2.9 installed with latest saga drivers.

On GOLD 2.9 FPU is not being disabled when using “vcontrol fp 0” and A600 automatically restarts. When checking Sysinfo it still reports FPU being used. Also verified with calculator app. :)  Using SAGADriver 1.3.

Also can someone look at my previous question regarding the no maprom feature also not working and how it is supposed to work please? Thanks. :)

EDIT: Also, when using the “vs 0” option to toggle SAGA Video DMA, it disables blitsync instead. Is that normal?

Great work ! thank you !

  but 2 things:

  1st: No x11.exe for A500V2+ ?
(i know USB-Blaster but i think the first one i´ve ordered in December from China
gets lost, and the second one i´ve ordered about 1 month ago still nor arrived)
  ... so i´m stuck at "2.9 x10" for the moment ...

  2nd: for that new ATARI-EMU:
I have problems entering the EMU-TOS.
By pressing FireButton at Power-ON i only get a black screen & my Acer
(connected to the DIGITAL-VIDEO) is switching off.
nothing else happens !

By first booting into ApolloOS and then powering down + pressing fire-button
(like in the youtube-video) my amiga boots straight-through to the
AmigaBootSelector (i have multiple WB installed).

I´m using a USB-GamePad connected via Tom&Jerry-Adapter.

is this normal unless a CF-Card, containing a ATARI-FAT partition, is inserted?
I thought there will be some kind of BootMenue ...

EMUTOS does first start on RGB/SCART.
  What do you see there?

The switch AMIGA/ATARI can only be done on real POWER-ON.
A reset will stay in the OS that you did select.

I use a IndiECS FlickerFixer for RGB output.

but anyway:
on Real-PowerON & holding the FireButton of my GamePad
on RGB/VGA i see the init-screen of IndiECS and nothing on VampireDIGITAL-VIDEO.

after a few seconds the IndiECS init-screen switches to black so
that both displays showing nothing.

Can you see something on the REAL Amiga RGB out?

ok !
  so thats it !
With the Real-RGB connected to my Acer i see the EMU-TOS
on both outputs (IndieECS & RGB)

But powering off and disconnecting the Real-RGB (only using IndiECS & DIGITAL-VIDEO like before)
its the same ! black both screens !!

this is a little bit annoying and might be a Bug ?!?
(i don't want to use 3 Monitor-cables for connecting 2 Monitors)

by the way: in EMU-TOS "change resolution" settings
its telling me "monochrome only" !

is this normal ?

Great news to see 2.9 out. Now I need to test the new expansion connector with Ethernet. :-)

Can we expect to see some G2.9 x12 love for V500 as well? I assume there is a good reason why there is one for V600 and not for V500.

We work 1-2 days on each core version.

Ok, was not aware of the amount of work involved in building multiple versions but it is nice to know. Will wait patiently. :-)

Great progress to Gold 3.0. Thumbs up for the Apollo Team.

Yes, it is minimalistic envirovment that fits Amiga ROM size and at least brings monochrome GUI. It is intended to boot MINT once partition is properly formatted and MINT unpacked there.

Some Atari related guide, until better one comes

That Emutos gives out BootScreen on RGB is normal
If you select e.g. 640x480x8bit as Desktop then display will come on DIGITAL-VIDEO.

You complain sounds like your Indivision does not show your RGB screen on VGA correctly?
