Really looking forward to this! Thanks Gunnar!!

Just a question: Do those that have already registered for GOLD 2.7 have to register again for GOLD 2.8?

You only need to register once.
The GOLD 2.78 release is planned for end of this week.

So if you did not register yet, you can do this in the next 2 days for Gold 2.8

I'm excited to test this - will this be an X10 core?  I found that runs the most stable on my Vampire 600.

I'd say more than likely this will be the case.

update

GOLD 2.8
Does enable the VAMP500+ Expansion port.
This means several types of devices can now be used there.

  Great news Gunnar. Wonderful :D

Will the info about the expansion port be released also? So that users can start develop hardware for it.
What else Besides Esp8266 & ESP32 can be connected to it right now?
  USB,..?

Any possibility to add a real time clock as well ..? right now I use the clock on an A500 expansion board but just curious if it will be available as an option on the vampire expansion port as well..

Out of interest, when USB support comes, would this be a feature that the Vampire 600 could also take advantage of by using the SD card slot with a breakout board in the same way it can be used for ethernet at present?

Real time clock?  Lots of SPI modules out there as it turns out:

All it needs is someone to write the necessary drivers I presume?

Gunnar I registered at the beginning of this year and according to the registration page we need to do it to be advised of updates and so on.
My problem is that I have not received any news about anything. I had expected when the 2.7 core was released that I would have received an email with a download link to the 2.7 core files but I have not received anything.
So I am wondering are we supposed to receive notification of updates and links to the files as it says - Quote:
"Register your Vampire now !
To be kept informed of new core releases and access future downloads"
Just wondering.
I love my vampire and am looking forward to 2.8 and thanks for all the work you and the team are doing to bring Amiga back to the future.
Cheers from Oz

But GOLD 2.7 works and is in Color for you?
If YES then Gold 2.8 will also work for you.

My dream expansion for the Vampire looks like this
- RJ45 ETHERNET plug
- USB
- RTC

All on one card.

We are right now discussing the possibility of production
of the above EXPANSION with a well known HW developer.
