have you run owb for the first time? because if so, it builds font cache on first run which takes a lot of time. it should load much faster on subsequent invokes.

I think IDE access is not yet back to the normal level. Anyway thanks for the MNESS IDE works now. Hopefully he will commit this IDE fix soon to the nightly builds.

Could you test Simplemail (3.X) with it? I think it worked with Zune

ok, that might be, that i recall it loading faster via csppc scsi, which is 40mb/s.

Hopefully he will commit this IDE fix soon to the nightly builds.

you mean to the repo? ;)

Included trick was to delete fonts before first run, making cache buildup way faster (until this is resolved)

i advised only removing the heavy dejavu ttfs. they will be too heavy for 68k no matter what. also i doubt fontcache building will be improved with aros owb. this browser is almost considered obsolete, as based on 2009 webkit core. it might be slightly updated, but the question is to what stage. on the other hand one could try to compile odyssey, but i doubt it will be usable.

Since it uses Zune, maybe Zune SAGA/080 optimization could help?

That is still lightyears ahead Ibrowse, Netsurf and comparable to TW experience, minus really working without FF 4 plugins :-)

I am glad about it. That is another milestone. Even Ibrowse 2.5 will not be that good.

AROS port of Origyn Web Browser is a Zune-based application created by Stanislaw Szymczyk as one of the requirements of "Port an Open Source Browser To AROS" bounty. It's using OWB encapsulated in a Zune class as a rendering engine.
  Features:

The AROS port extends default OWB in numerous ways, most important are:

      Support for file downloads
Ability to open multiple tabs and multiple windows
      Support for popup windows
      Graphical preferences manager
      Localization

  Manual:
  Starting

When running OWB from a Shell you can specify an URL to open in argument.

During the first run OWB is generating a font cache. This process may take some time, but it's done only once. Generated cache is stored in fonts/cache directory.
  Usage

To manage tabs use context menu (right mouse button) in the tabs section.

To download a file use link context menu (right mouse button) and choose "Download Linked File".

To access files located on disk use paths in the following form: file:///System:S/Startup-Sequence

To bookmark a tab use tab's context menu.

Bookmark menu is present in the URL string input context menu.

To open a link in a background tab use middle mouse button.
  Keyboard Shortcuts

The following keyboard shortcuts are implemented:

      F1 - go back
      F2 - go forward
      F3 - zoom page in
      F4 - zoom page out

      ctrl+c or amiga+c - copy
      ctrl+x or amiga+x - cut
      ctrl+v or amiga+v - paste

      ctrl+t - open new tab
      ctrl+n - open new window
      ctrl+w - close active tab

  Toolbar

Bookmarks Bookmarks, opens the bookmark manager.

Find Text Find, search for text inside the current page.

If AROS can run 80% as fast AmigaOS I am willing to jump ship and move to AROS permanently. Add fancy icons and I am set!

It is really the NG AMIGA IN ALL REGARDS!!

AROS OS gives the Amiga a serious business OS look. It looks as professional and serious as said linux, mac or windows.

Some Amiga theme, unlike GNome icons and ScalOS as default or similar, should do the trick.

Have tried 68k version with AmigaForever. No doubt about its existance in past, I am Vampire specific here - its milestone having OWB, no joke.
