| I was also thinking about that for my Amiga 500 which never had a hard drive or a hard disk indicator LED, just floppy disk and power. I concluded I didn't really need a floppy LED because it's loud enough to know when the floppy is in use, but a CF card or SD card is completely silent and it needs an LED. My thought was to buy a CF card reader with an activity indicator LED, unsolder that LED from the card reader and solder a long double stranded wire in its place. A long front panel wire such as PWR LED, HDD LED, RESET, etc would do. The double wire would then stretch all the way over to the far right of the A500 keyboard. I could replace the rectangular floppy LED with a new rectangular red one, or a blue one, or unsolder the LED and connect it to the long wire leading from the CF card reader. It would be nice if it were removable as well if I ever replace the card reader. That's my theory but I haven't tested it yet. When there is activity on the card reader the LED in the old floppy location should blink. Let's hope that works.
