Hi! Need some help getting the Vampire to run in my A1200.

First, I tried to just plug it in and see what happens... error message:
  Software Failure
  ramlib
  Program failed (error #800000...).
Wait for disk activity to finish.
  [Suspend] [Reboot]

  Did some research, downloaded this:
  EXTERNAL LINK
Also, downloaded Gold 2.16. Put it in C drawer. Booted without startup-sequence.

However, trying to flash it from CLI with ApolloFlash 1.24 gives me another error.
Error. Cannot identify ROM location in Flash.

I guess I need some idiot proof guide. Anyone?

I had this once on my A500 V2. It was a while ago and might have been when 3.2.1 was first released. If I recall I ended up having to re-extract the AmigaOS 3.2.1 rom included with the OS because I guess it got corrupted somehow the first time I flashed the rom after flashing the core. I think I used VampireFlash (I don't think ApolloFlash was around yet) to do the flashing of the core and AmigaOS rom.

Hope that helps.

I struggled to get 3.2 to play nice with my V2 / 1200 also. The available distros are nice and all , but I wish Apollo team would make a Developer centred distro with a good set of tools, various asset creation tools, but not much else. I was hoping to use 3.2 as a base for that.
I have ADHD and I dont like a busy desktop or filesystem, nor do i want someone to choose for me which hacks or extensions have been added to the default experience. Existing distros dont even consider accessibility.
Failing that it would be nice if someone could publish a detailed tutorial or guide to building a developer / productivity focused setup from scratch.

What type of development do you think off?
Assembly?

From my experience the most used distros, e.g. ApolloOS and Coffin both come with a number of development tools.

For assembly coding both ASMOne and VASM are good options.
For C coding, GCC is in my experience also a good option.

Many Amiga coders will know Louises hardfile ... This is old and was pretty good for developmenmt too.

In my experience having a distro with more tools ... is always better. Even if I only want to write some small tool. Having a tool to make an icon for it. Or a paint program or a viewer to make/view the guide help file ..  at some point many such tools are needed for me.. So having them on the distro is nice for me.

What issues were you having?

No point in trying to help me at the moment as everything is packed away , due to a catastrophic year.

I'm not sure what you mean?
Can you explain this more?

3.2 should actually no problem to use ...
Hundreds or more precise thousands of Vampire and Apollo users also use 3.2 - so it should be no problem.
