Weird Behaviour of After the First Power Cycling

Hello folks,

I am experiencing a weird behaviour after the first power cycle of my V4 Standalone that makes me nuts and discourage me.

I happens that after flashing a new CF with Apollo OS or Coffin I can boot the Vampire and use it. But when after the first power cycle of the machine the CF becomes unreadable and I some errors.

      In a window appears:

      Device DH0:
      Alert
Wrong ablock id 00007048 block 7542

I tried 2 different CF Sandisk, flashed several times but I have the same result after power cycling the board.

  Is my V4Standalone faulty maybe?

  Can I have any help?

Hi Daniele,

I had that too with a cf-card, coffin or apolloOS run fine.
But after a reset the card seem the be unreadable/empty.

The 128gb kingston from the shop works fine.
And other cards also seem to do a good job, you just need to find one that match.
Ironicly Sandisc often also works good.

Back in the days of atari i had the same.
After analise a write seem to be shifted up or down some bytes to another place.
That of course ruined the information on it.

The V4 is good, else it would not started the first time.

Daniele how about you come to the Discord support channel?
This is normally quicker to help.

Also can you please give us more information and explain what you did and why..

1) When did you get your V4?

2) The V4 systems are normally shipped with a 128 GB Kingston.
You not use the 128GB? Did I understand you right you use a 32GB Sandisk?

3) Which core version are you using, and which AplloOS and COffin versions?

4) Which tool did you use to flash your CF?

5) Please be so kind and list what hardware is connected to the V4

Thanks

1) I purchased my V4 on 17 Nov 2020.

2) mine was shipped with a Sandisk Extreme 32gb UDMA7.

3) I upgraded to the latest core few data ago and I am using ApolloOs R9.4 or Coffin R62. I have the same result with other versions likes Coffin R57 for example.

4) to flash I have tried BalenaEtcher and Win32diskimager.

5) to my V4 I connect a Omen keyboard, a wimitech mouse and a Tvled.

I tried several times to burn the CF but at the First Power cycle I get and error on the CF card.

I bought another Sandisk and have the same behaviour.

Any idea?

OK I understand now.
So you use the card 3 years already.
That you made your forum account just now and your post confused me , this made me think you got the card just now.

Which core version did you flash?
Did you take the stable or alpha test release?

BalenaEtcher has a good reputation.

How do you power cycle?
With CTRL A A?
Or do you a software program?

At which point did you power cycle?
Please note that Coffin uses PFS filesystem which will write a lot to disk on boot. If you power cycle during a write activity this  can cause filesystem damage.

Gun,

half the problemi is gone, I changed keyboard with a wimitech keyboard instead of Omen game keyboard by HP and now Apollo R.9.4 seems to work fine.

I have the latest stable core 9465 installed.

But I cannot understand why if I swap CF with amother card with installed the latest Coffin (R62) it shows a window saying that there Is no disk device in dho:

any idea?
