Hi everyone I got a Vampire V2 last November and have never got it to work. I have no instructions no Vampire OS and no core and can't find them anywhere. Did I just buy a paper weight?

Cards should be sold with small manual. Did you get one?
Where did you buy your card?
Help me understand why do you wait 9 month before asking for help?

The V1200 should be plug and play.
You follow the instruction to open your A1200 and plug in the card.
This very simple.
Then you just turn the power on.

Yeah got the manual....the link doesn't work, Amigastore.eu, gave up trying to get it to work last December.
CF card works without Vampire but not with. With card in just goes to Apolla 3.1 workbench and the DIGITAL-VIDEO output just shows the red Vampire logo on a black screen.

Nov/Dec 2021 is a late buy for V1200. :(
The V1200 was discontinued in JULY 2021, and the new model announced  many month before you bought the V1200.

But lets try to help you get the best out of the card.

Ok this sounds not that bad.
I understand you can boot to Workbench?
And I undestand you have DIGITAL-VIDEO?
This is both good.

Help me understand what you problem you have on CF?
Which OS is on your CF?

Both CF card & ROMS are 3.2. 3.2 boots up in the IDE port without the Vampire but comes up with runtime error 10 (I think) with the vampire in. If I put the CF card directly on the Vampire it goes to the Apollo 3.1 floppy screen and the hdmi just shows the Vampire logo.

If I knew the new card was coming I would of waited before I spent £500 but this looks good

The Vampire1200 does never use the onboard roms.
But you can flash any Kickfile into the V1200.

you try to boot WB 3.2 with Kick 3.10
No wonder this gives problems.
Also on 3.2 you need delete the useless 040/060 libs and useless MMU lib - they cause problems.

OK sounds right going to setup a new card on 3.1 to see if that fixes the problem and remove the lib's off the other but where can I download the Vampire OS? I need to get this booted before I can flash it.

You need ApolloOS, not Vampire OS and I believe you can downloaded on the link below.

Not sure what you mean. As there is no Vampire OS.

There is Apollo-OS which is a new developed Amiga OS.
Our team creates new releases of ApolloOS every year.
Apollo-OS runs well on all V4 systems, installing on any V2 needs some extra effort. With the upcoming 2.16 Core-Release coming this summer the plan is that V2s will also be able to run Apollo-OS out of the box.

Maybe you mean Coffin?
Coffin is a preinstalled and preconfigured OS3.9 system.
Coffin is maintained by the Amiga community.
