Hello,

Has Vampire 4 standalone been abandoned ?
There has been no updates for Core 8 for a long time.
I check in often to see if a new core is released for download.

Thanks

Two months of not having a core update doesn't warrant abandonment...

Your questions sounds a little ignorant.

Everyone knows that development does takes time.

If you look at discord or here in the forum then you will have seen that the team is working on several major projects and is making good progress. The team is working on several new games, on core improvements, faster 3D acceleration, on the next distro release, and a even on a new accelerator card.

Have you tried for example the new Space Invader game?

Sorry, I didn't mean to upset anyone.
Its just we had a few updates close together.
Keep up the good work, I love my vampires.

One of the reasons I love the Vampire 4 standalone and the V4 add-on cards for the Amiga is that it reminds me of the Video Toaster in a way. Please let me explain. The Video Toaster didn’t just add one feature to the Amiga, it added several. Basically turning your Amiga into a piece of broadcast quality video equipment for the time. The V4 is not just an accelerator for the Amiga, it adds several unique features like a new chipset with much better audio/video and much much more. Giving you the AAA Amiga of your dreams that Commodore never got to release. It allows Amiga fans to rebuild the Amiga scene into something advanced and fun again. It’s not competing with Windows or Mac, it’s giving Amiga enthusiasts something new and exciting to experiment with. Something they always wanted. You even get the choice of running AmigaOS or ApolloOS so it’s lawsuit free if you want. No courtroom drama that’s always hurt the Amiga scene in the past.

The V4 do have some of the spec of AAA and some
From Hombre. What is nice about the V4 line is that it is compatible with existing chipsets. AAA was not and the OS would have needed a rewrite of all functions banging the HW. Applications and games which do not use the OS entirely wouldn’t have run in a AAA machine.
V4 is a fast and improved Amiga where you can have a lot of fun not some kind of alien hardware running the AmigaOS. The fun is in the Trinity : The 68k OS, The Chipset and the 68k CPU. I wonder if Apollo should not be renamed Trinity :)

I’m not sure if they would want to use the Trinity name since Play Inc. already used it years ago and that product failed.
