Hi,

I`m experiencing several issues with my firebird. Firstly coffin os loads but there`s no display, my monitor says unable to display resolution even though apollo os and caffeine os load and display fine and also the sd card won`t mount in either apollo os or caffeine. I`ve followed the instructions but end up with sd0:bad. The sd card works fine in my pc and other amigas I own. I`ve tried plugging it directly into the sd card slot on the firebird and several other sd cards. The firebird is currently in my A500++ but I have also tried it in my A500+ rev 8 and I get the same results with both. Any help is really appreciated.

Hello Tom,

Do you know that there is an online support channel on Discord?
When you bought the card you should have got an invitation to it.
For support the live online channel offers a lot advantages.

Coffin OS per default select a certain screen resolution.
This is different than the one used by ApolloOS.
Are you an experience Amiga user?
Then you will know how to change the screenmode.

If you not then go into early startup and select "boot without Startup-sequence". The display will then default to PAL
Then do loadwb, and then change the screenmode.

I would propose 1280x720

Cheers
Gunnar

Hi Gunnar,

Yes I`ve tried discord without much luck.
When I loadwb and try and change the sceenmode it asks for resource library 44.

You can boot into CLI and from CLI delete the screenmode.prefs
Then reboot, then WB will load to PAL and then you can change it from WB Prefs.

Hi,

Thanks that`s great. I`m up and running with coffin, but I still can`t get the sd card to mount. I`ve tried several sd cards all san disk, all formatted to fat32 and all work in my other amigas.

Which Firebird Core release do you use?
Is the SDCard directly connected or do you use an extension cable?
What does SDdiag show?

Hi,

I`m using the latest core fb_8768. I`ve tried with an extension and direct in the slot. Both the same. sddiag says;

DebugLevel: 0
SD Card Detected on $xDE0000:
Block Size: 512
Blocks: 62333952
Capacity: 30G
OCR: C0FF8000

What happens if you try typing “mount Sd0:” at the cli? It really sounds like the os is unable to read the file system for some reason. Might be worth trying a previous core, see if the sd works there.

Hi,

I down graded the core to fb 8590 and the sd card slot is working, however I`m getting no rgb down the hdmi and caffeine os hangs on first boot.
