Hello everyone

Has anyone tried the new AMISSL and IBrowse update? In some of my vampire systems i have some issues with not accessing https sites even though I followed the correct order installing first AMISSL and then ibrowse. Also in one of my systems i face ibrowse crashing. If anyone has done the update, please let me know your outcome. Do you use fpu ibrowse version in your vampire or nonfpu?

Hi Nikos,

I updated to both AmiSSL 5.1 and iBrowse 2.5.6 and didn't experience any crashes visiting the https sites of amiga.org and Thomas Rapp's site, as you mentioned over at EAB.

I'm using a V1200 and with Amiga OS 3.1.4. I installed AmiSSL using the 080 option and iBrowse using the 040FPU option. Installed both straight over the top of their respective older versions.

Despite what was mentioned in the other thread, I don't believe it has anything to do with the V1200's FPU. What it has to do with, I couldn't tell you. You haven't installed any CPU libraries or anything like that?

Hello Sean

Thanks for letting me know about your experience. For me in most of my systems it is all fine too regarding the update. it is just in two specific ones that this is happening. I am not really bothered a lot to be honest, since it works in most of my systems but i mentioned it in case something is wrong and needs fixing. I do still believe though that something is off somewhere since these two systems that i now have the problem, worked fine with ibrowse 2.5.5 and amissl 4.12. Once updated them problems started. And the funny thing is that nothing helps. I Reinstalled IBrowse using different cpu verions and amissl as well but with no avail.

Anyway thanks again for sharing with me your experience.

Nikos

Hi !
Be carefull about AmiSSL, do not use 68060 amithlon version it doesn't work with Vampire just amithlon. Use the 68040 version instead.
You could launch Snoopdos to see what failed. If you have severals installations be carefull about assignations in the user startup perhaps there are wrong so it does not work.
  Hope it helps ;)
