Hello,

i have an Icedrake and bought ApolloOS CF with it, eveytime i start SD0 device i get the message in a request: "Mount Fail ERROR" and i can only press OK.
No matter what SD card i insert, i always get this message, even when there is no SD inside the slot.

Why do this happen?

I have this problem as well. What is the revision of your motherboard?

I have a 2B revision, escom one, with 3.2 rom (even though this should be ininfluent).
I'm experiencing several issues with the Vampire, somtething that didn't happen with the Blizzard 1230, al the games crashes every time i try to play. I have an A500 power supply to give power to the computer.

Hi Massimo,

Btw are you in our support Discord channel?

For your info all shipped ICEDRAKE cards were successfully tested with such mainboard. Running stable and all were tested and verified that the SDcard port is working perfectly.

Stability problems could be caused by insufficient power supply.
What model of A500 supply do you have? How many amps does it provide on the 5V rail?

Does your board have the Timing fix?

As you might know not all FAT options are recognised by AmigaOS.
How did you format your SDcard?
Did you follow the format instructions in the video?

Hello Gunnar, thank you for explaining,
i formatter the SD following the video instruction and my power supply nominally provides 4,5A on the 5V rail.
As Icedrake is a "green" device, greener than blizzard 1230 i guessed that my PSU was enough. My A1200 never shoed any timing issue before and I tested it with a BlizzardPPC too.

Anyway I'll make a power supply recap and test the Icedrake again, maybe it's a capacitor's problem that was not evident with the Blizzard 1230

I get this too... my board is 1.4D, I used a Sandisk Ultra 16gb card, I reformatted it to fat32 but no go... the card is fine but it will not mount. Then I tried another Sandisk Ultra but this one 8GB and it works fine, so who knows.

I am having other stability issues with my Icedrake too, that I am currently trying to get to the bottom of.

my SD card is a Samsung one, seized 32GB, i need a big one for my purposes.

What about your power supply? Gunnar suggests that it could be a power issue.

My PSU is a converted ATX power supply, and my motherboard was fully recapped a few years ago. I've been running a Vampire 1200 V2 in that time with no issues. I'm still trying to figure out and test things, so I will make a seperate post if i need to once I run out of ideas! :-) I don't want to hijack this thread... it was just to say i had experienced this too.

Hi, I have the same issue. For me working scenario:

Remove included CF adapter and use another with ribbon - this fix SDcard reading (for me).

Disconnect floppy ribbon and power from floppy - this fix slow network (for me)

I already downloaded those documents and read them, by now the only issue could be in the PSU, i'll replace the capacitors today or tomorrow.

hello Gunnar, I just bought a brand new power supply that should be powerful enough for my amiga and Vampire, but i have the same problems i had before: SD is not recognised by the system, the clock doesn't keep time and a lot for games and apps crash.

Maybe i was unlucky with my vampire. I don't think that timing fix is the solution as i didn't need it with my former blizzard 1230.

Please be very careful with so called new power supplies for Amiga.

Their are on market some power supplies which are internally based on the "Meanwell 50" PSU. Those are pften incorrectly marketed with being twice as strong as original AMIGA PSU. This marketing is not correct.
The Meanwell 50 is on the important 5V line weaker than most original Amiga 500 PSU were.
Many people have reported problems with these power supplies.
I can not recommend to use any of these.

From what people reported the meanwell 65B is much better in quality.

unfortunately my microSD slot doesn't work at all, i took a powerful Power Supply, bought a 1D4 revision MoBo, upgraded the core and installe Apollo Boot Trio in order to test it with ApolloOS, Coffin 61 and AmigaOS 3.2, there is no way.
On ApolloOS i got a requester "Mount Fail - Error" every time i double clock the SD0 icon.

I'm skeptical it could be something about pin damages as it didn't work even before i even bought a SD extender, is there any diagnostic tool i can use to check it better?

Sorry to hear about your SD issues. My 1D4 NTSC board and IceDrake have been reliable as long as the SD was inserted directly into the SD slot. Extension worked inititally, then quit with more recent cores. I think the next core update for the IceDrake will allow my extension work again, based on the fact I'm testing an internal Alpha core, and it's working again with ApolloOS R9.
