Firebird (A2000) Vs. V4SA

Hi,

I have an Amiga 2000 and I'm considering getting a Firebird. I also have a V4SA. For those of you that have both (or any other Amiga) and those who also do not have a financial stake in the Vampire, what are the advantages and disadvantages between them? Meaning, which will one do better than the other, (i.e. expansion cards, device speed, features, compatibility). What differences are you guys actually seeing?

Thanks,

Mike

Both cards are very very similar. Both have same speed, same CPU, same amount of memory, same ethernet chip, same video modes.

And expansion card compatibility with both? Anything that won't run if Firebird is installed?

Do you ask if there are expansion cards for V4Sa or Firebird?
Yes there are expansion options, like RTC for example.

The Team did test the Firebird both in A500/A1000/ and A2000.
And the A2000 were used  with a number of Zorro cards.
No card that we have gave us any problems. So in general all should work.

But it goes without saying and should be clear, that the world is big and there might be Zorro cards which we could not tested yet. Just the same way as if you buy a new IBM or DELL PC  - neither IBM nor DELL are able to test every PCI card with it.

Today many, maybe hundreds of people use Firebird on A2000, you can meet them on our user-Discord channel and ask them about their experience.
