Mouse and Monitor Advices

Hello I just got my vampire SA and those are my initial questions:

* Mouse, the pointer moves very slowly, where/how can I configure the speed/acceleration?

* Monitor, to my surprise the audio goes through the hdmi cable, no problem, but what monitor do you recommend? I suspect it'd be better to stick with a 4:3? is there any recommended monitor that would work well at the vampire's resolutions?

* is it safe to shutdown (via the provided switch, which just cuts power) the vampire at any time, or I might cause a filesystem corruption?

Thank you!

Mouse settings are in the prefs folder, in the Input settings as I recall. Prefs folder is in the ApolloOS: partition. There are several things you can adjust there, including Locale, date and time etc.

You can use a TV or monitor which support higher resolutions and aren't natively 4:3. I currently use an old 1080p monitor, and have no issues. Only caveot, is you may have to change the settings on the monitor/TV to prevent image stretching (scaling) in 4:3. FYI: The resolution which ApolloOS starts in by default, is 1280 x 720.

I'd recommend waiting a few seconds if the HDD led is active. Always a good idea to make certain no writes are in process before turning the machine off. Otherwise, it should be fine to power it down. There is no 'shut down" process to go through as there is with Windows..

I'm sorry I do not see an "Input settings" in the Prefs folder.

I'm very happy with "ViewSonic" monitors.
I've tested 24", 27" and 32" versions from them, and they all run great and display both RTG workbench and the original Amiga games perfectly.

Right now I use a 32" ViewSonic which has hardware screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixel.
The picture is excellent of it.
The games look great and Workbench too.
