Hello

when i try to run Alien Breed 3D with the V1200, it always crashes at the end of the first level with this error.

Bad stack pointer on entering WHDLoad via resload_getfilesize

anyone got any idea what it means, or how to resolve it?

many thanks

I also have constant problems with this game on the V4 standalone (assuming you mean AB3D-II). It always crashes 30 seconds to 5 minutes after loading the first level. Usually it starts glitching out, getting slow, enemies become invisible, then it crashes to WB with some vague WHDLoad error. I don't have these problems with any other game, just this one. Running Coffin R59.

I have a suspicion that it might be tied to the Picasso96 resolution (some resolutions it wont even start), but I haven't been able to test it with that specific resolution yet. I think it was 320x240 or something.

Hi John, thanks for your input, this is Alien Breed 3D (The first one) across RGB

You might want to include a bit more information about your system than what you have. i.e OS, WHDLoad version, what tooltypes, if any, you are using with the AB3D WHDLoad executable, any additional hardware addons, how you installed AB3D etc.

I've been using AB3D with my V1200 with no issues, so don't know what could be wrong. The only tooltype I have added is "cache" to make it run at max frame rates and it works well. If you're not already doing so, try using the latest version of WHDLoad, make sure you're using the latest WHDLoad installer for AB3D.

it's a bog standard install of WB 3.1, with the latest version of WHDLoad, and nothing else on it, through RGB, there is very little installed to mess it up.

Over 1,000 views, and no input to a customer, about what this error might be, from The Apollo team, or is this forum just for wishing people happy birthday, while ignoring people, and posting about how great your upcoming products are? Poor

Do you have the most up to date core on the V1200?
You could also try one of the coffin distributions to ensure its not your software setup.
What version of WHDload are you using?
Do you have the most up to date SAGA driver installed?

On looking it up this looks like a WHDload issue, as the 'resload_getfilesize' is a function of WHDload and refers to the file size of a file.
I'd check if its maybe one of the AB3D files that is corrupt, or one of the tooltypes is wrong.

Edit: as its just a 3.1 install did you setup the max transfer on the CF correctly?

Hmm I have googled for the error and found this on eab:
  EXTERNAL LINK
it could be related to the whdload slave

Is that a general problem or only with this game?
