These boards are no longer supported there is no roadmap. I would recommend people avoid these V2 boards and get the V4.

The V1200 are supported, and there is a planned roadmap.
The Apollo-team is right now working on a bugfix update for the V1200.
The planned roadmap includes bugfixes.

I think we can all agree that the V1200 is a very solid card.
Its today the most powerful card that money can buy for the A1200.
The 68080 CPU is much faster than an 68060.

Of course worth to know is that the V1200 card will not be produced anymore in the future, and will be replaced by a new model "IceDrake" in the future.

The biggest problem of the V1200 is the years long waiting time.
Unfortunately we get no informations from Igor at the moment about production and waiting time. Without information, any planning is impossible and also the future of the V1200 is very uncertain.

While the Apollo-Team would like to help here, this is impossible.
We are really sorry here, this lies only in Igors control.

Mixed messaging and placing the responsibility on someone else.

How else are we to interpret those statements ?
1) The future of V1200 is very uncertain
2) the future lies only in Igors control.

___

If there was a roadmap - the future would not be uncertain.
If Igor is in control of its future as you stated 29 Jun 2021 13:03 then Igor would have produced a Roadmap

I dont know which statement to believe.

Show us Igors roadmap to back up what you are stating.

Hello Nick,

Maybe this is language problem?
Together with the definition of what "roadmap" means.

A) Production Roadmap:
The V1200 are not produced anymore.
There are some last units at Relec.
If you want to have a V1200 then this your last chance to get one.

B) Support and update Roadmap:
Bugfixes are planned for the V1200.
As stated the Apollo-Team is right now working on a Bugfix update.
(Igor retirement does not affect this, Igor never did core updates anyway)

Even if the V1200 is EOL as to the production we shouldn't forget that it is still an amazing piece of hardware! I am writing these lines on my Amiga 1200 with a Workbench in 16bit colors at 1366x768 with AmigaAMP running some nice Destruction (TRASH metal:) music from the 80ies via samba in the background ... :) The system is very fast and stable, so in my opinion the V1200 is worth every penny (or Swiss Franc - in my case:) I paid for it. If it gets some bugfixes in the future this is perfect for me!

I see it like this: if we make a comparison with the world of smartphones, when the Samsung Galaxy S20 becomes EOL and is replaced by the S21, that does not prevent sellers from continuing to sell S20s that are still in stock, and that does not prevent security updates from continuing to arrive.
Here it is identical. The V1200 is announced EOL and its replacement, the Ice Drake, has been announced. But as it is, the V1200 is still the most powerful Amiga 1200 card on the market, and it's very stable.

The V1200 is a nice piece of hardware.

Unfortunately, it does seem to me that the Apollo Team's focus is solely on the V4, especially regarding ApollOS and new features for the core, and that I probably should have invested in a V4 instead.

Also, the V1200 was not a small investment by my standard.

Is a bugtracker or other tools exist to record bugs found ? It'll be more convenient for everyone :)
