What is the easiest and/or fastest method for transferring a large collection of files from a Windows 10 PC to the V4 SA with Apollo AROS installed?
Instructions for an absolute beginner please.

Easiest way for me: samba or ftp connection to my linux box. You can also use a FAT-formatted Micro-SD card otherwise. For samba you need to downgrade your server to the older standard. With ftp this is not necessary (so ftp is probably the easiest way to transfer data).
On ApolloOS use the samba configuration from the start menu. You have to enter parameters one after the other. Instead of hostname use ip address with quotes “192.168.0.x”. Workgroup=workgroup. Share=Your PC share name. Volume=name of the share on ApolloOS.  Only one samba connection possible under ApolloOS for the moment.

To move files to V4 I generally copy files on a uSDcard.
I use normal 32GB Sandisk SDcard.
This works for me very good.
Copy speed from SDcard to V4 is faster than copy files on HDD on my A4000

Fat32 formatted microSD.

The microSD slot on the V4 is a push to lock, then push to release on my V4. I'm not certain if the same slot type is used on the newer V4+, but I imagine it is.

Push the microSD into the slot. Note that it may be possible to put the microSD into a smal space near the actual slot.. I've done that once or twice, so pay a bit of attention there. When it is completely inserted and hits bottom, you may hear a slight 'click' as the card is locked into the slot.

To remove the microSD, you have to push again gently to release the microSD. It will go in a very short distantce, and you may hear another slight 'click' when you do this. You can then easily pull the microSD out of the slot.

Note that the slot ont USB reader on the PC may not work this way. Mine is push in, pull out. There's no locking mechanism.

Copy the files from PC to the microSD using a USB card reader.

Remove the microSD from the reader, insert it into the microSD slot on the V4. Inert the microSD into the slot gently. When it is completely inserted, it should lock into place.

There should be a "SD0" icon on the desktop. Double-click on that to mount the microSD. You should see another icon display with the name of the MicroSD.

Double-click on the MicroSd's to view the contents. Note that files which do NOT also have a .info file with them, will not show in this view. You can change this display by clicking on the title bar which goes across the top of the screen, click on Window -> Vieww -> Detail mode, then Window->View All Files. This will switch to the 'file lister' view, and show all files, regardless of whether there's a .info for them.

Depending on your preference, you may wish to create a new folder to put the files into. Otherwise, you can of course simply copy them to the root of a volume.

Open the destination volume (double-click on the Stuff: icon), create a new folder if you desire there from the menu bar at the top of the screen (Window->New Drawer) Name it as you wish.

You can then drag folders and/or files from the SD to the destination. You will see a window which displays the name of the file(s) as it copies them.

You can use other means as well. Samba and FTP among others, but there will be some setup involved there on both sides.

  Hopefully, that helps.

The Easiest way i found is using fileshare. I have a RPI3 with a ssd on my network for this with open media vault installed and SMB 1 enabled.

I use this a lot to copy files and updates since all my amiga's have network acces.

I even use this to store documents, create backups and all other things that can be used with network enabled on the amiga side.

Excellent!
I will try the micro SD card route first.
Thank you all for such fast and concise information.
  Greatly appreciated. :-)

For anyone who needs to know.

Windows 10 does NOT allow SD Cards with a capacity over 32Gb to be formatted in FAT32.

The simplest solution that I found was a tiny program called 'guiformat.exe'.
This allows the user to format larger capacity cards in FAT32.

Also invaluable for any stubborn SD cards, is another small utility for Windows called 'SD Card Formatter'.

Use SD Card Formatter first on the offending card and then throw guiformat.exe at it. Works every time.

Not sure how to create links to external websites but Google should find what you need.

  Hope this helps some people.
