| Hi. I'd like to know what is the onboard (the Vampire IDE) situation. I still have my CF card connected to the Amiga IDE for some reason. AFAIR the Vampire IDE wasn't working some time ago. Does it work now? Cheers, Manfred

| Yes, with GOLD2.13. https://wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/doku.php/vampire:v1200-v2:updates

| So - just checking - if I move my CF card from my buffered interface, connected to the V1200 ide then it should just work from there? Nothing else to do? Also, I have a cd-rom attached to the buffered interface on the internal ide, is there anyway to keep this attached? I know that trying to run the cd-rom off the V1200 ide works but slows it down? I don't think the V1200 boots from SD card so I'm guessing this wouldn't be an option?

| I've installed GOLD2.13. And, the harddrive on the Vampire is detected and loads. But as soon as I maprom AOS 3.1.4 the harddrive is not detected anymore. Any idea?Manfred

No, I don't think that'll work.

| It will probably be that there is no driver for the 2nd IDE controller in your version of kickstart ROM 3.1.4.

Hmm, ok. But the Vampire 500 works with the Vampire onboard IDE AND with AOS 3.1.4.

This is not likely to be the issue as I have both maprom'd and flashed the KS 3.1.4 to my V1200 and the Vampire IDE still works. Manfred, not sure what your problem could be, as I have no issues with mine and KS 3.1.4. Granted, I don't boot from the drive that's attached to the Vampire IDE, I just simply use it for storage at this stage. Are you tying to boot from that drive? Have you tried flashing the KS 3.1.4 to the V1200 instead using VampireFlash? I prefer this option as it doesn't require you having to add VampireMap to the startup sequence nor having the Amiga double boot from cold.

That's good idea. I will give that a try. Forgot that this is possible.

| No. Unfortunately that doesn't make a change (except the faster boot). The CF card is not detected on the Vampire IDE. I should maybe try to attach something to see if it is detected once the system got loaded from onboard IDE.
