What core are you using?
Can you reproduce this with the latest core GOLD 2.16?

Hi Gunnar!

I'm currently using GOLD 2.12 x11, I'm going to reinstall my Vampire  card and flash the new core GOLD 2.16...

BTW, what's the difference between VampireFlash in SAGADrivers.lha and ApolloFlash (both at http://www.apollo-core.com/index.htm?page=downloads)?

Take care!

ApolloFlash is the new tool.
You want to use ApolloFlash from now on.

Hi all!

I put back my Vampire into my A600 and now it doesn't boot at all :sigh:

When I switch it on, I get first a blue screen (normal, IIRC) and then a yellow screen and then a blinking (light) green screen (sometimes just the green screen). These colours seems to mean "Bad CPU" and "Memory problem" or "CIA problem".

After a while, the Vampire starts and the Amiga boots but then, after yet a little while, it resets (Vampire logo) and doesn't boot again.

Very fidgety...

I guess I could undo everything again but would that help anything at this point?

Take care!

After disassembling and reassembling everything, it seems more stable now :-)

I'd like to update the core from GOLD 2.12 x11 to the newest 2.16 but I'm confused how to use the JIC file: should I use ApolloFlash, VampireFlash, FlashROM or a USB Blaster (which I don't have)?

I scoured the Internet for a definite answer but found many contradictory (?) answers...

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tygre. To get yourself from GOLD 2.12 to GOLD 2.16 use VampireFlash 1.14 from SAGA 2.9 driver, as I don't think the new ApolloFlash 1.15 will recognize GOLD 2.12.

Once you're at GOLD 2.16 then use ApolloFlash from then on. So you would then use it to flash whatever kickstart you want. I believe ApolloFlash works with GOLD 2.15 cores and later.

Hi Sean and thanks!

I used VampireFlash to go from 2.12 to 2.16 :-)
I like the little Space Invaders sprites!

Now, I just tried resetting my Amiga but same behaviour as with 2.12: when I press CTRL+LAmiga+RAmiga, I can see a white "flash" on my 1085 monitor, the image on my DVI monitor remains, the Amiga is "frozen". I must switch it off/on to use it again.

This doesn't happen if I use a "reboot" command, like "SafeReset COLD" (http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/SafeReset).

Any idea how I could solve this?

Take care!

What Hardware internal and external is connected to your Amiga?

Hi Gunnar!

It's a stock A600, recapped (not by me), with the Vampire, a Arananet, and a CF card. (The CF card is actually a micro-SD in a micro-to-mini in a mini-to-CF adapters).

The Vampire is plugged into a DVI-I monitor with a H DMI-to-DVI cable and the Arananet into an Ethernet hub. (The A600 is also connected to a 1085S, speakers, and mouse. The power supply is a Mean Well RT-125B.)

  Thanks in advance :-)

Your problem is strange.
The difference between a "soft reset" from program and reset from keyboard is that the keyboard reset will also reset the Amiga chipset.

Unfortunately I can not reproduce your problems here.

Hi Gunnar!

I'm lost too! (but I know much less than you and anyone else here :-) )

Would there be things that I could test? Could I "cut" some reset lines to mimic a "soft reset"?

Thanks in advance!

My V600 V2 setup occasionally gets this issue as well, but I do have some socket issues that crop up sometimes. I thought it may because of that, but also it likely could be in the Reset circuitry. Which I found a lot of good diagnostic information on this page: EXTERNAL LINK

Hi Roy!

Thanks for the schematics, interesting!

I'll try to check some of the traces/signals... I wonder what does the box "Due to Die" mean?

I have a revision 1.5 "June Bug" motherboard... Am I right that it's not the same as the 2C? So I won't have the block on the top-right?

Best!
