Is there anyone working on the compatibility of WHDLoad games?
It's a pity that a lot of games do not work. Either there is a black Screen or they crash. Would be very important from my point of view as many users like to play some old games as well. .-)
At the moment mostly all games work with a 1240 DCE Blizzard...please support.

Could you make a short commented (info details) list of whdload games which works on 1240 but not with Gold core?

I've checked now some games that do not work:
  Alcatraz (graphic glitches)
  Blood Money (graphic glitches)
Bug Bomber (freeze at protection check, no key Input possible)
Black Gold / Oil Imperium -- NMI Autovector!
  North& South (NMI Autovector!!)
  Pirates (NMI Autovector!!!)
Populous 1 (NMI Autovector) same with Rings of Medusa, R-Type 1 and 2 with graphic glitches and Exeption Line 1010 Emulator...17/26 worked. And this is just a quick check. However my most favourite games such as Fate-Gates of Dawn and Ambermoon run like hell .-)
Cannon Fodder 1 works now...

i will check now the following comments that maybe solve the NMI Topic..."just to set the NOAUTOVEC tooltype" of the game/Icon - will let you know...Ok. The Comment "NOAUTOVEC" will solve the issue with NMI AUTOVECTOR. So those games are running now ,-.
But still no answer for the games with black Screens (e.g. Lotus 1) or graphic glitches such as R-Type 2 with freezer.

Thanks, we will check these on the Gold2 turtle mode tests.

Only one I found so far is Bubble Bobble, it worked but was too fast, hopefully the turtle mode will help.

Stunt Car Racer worked but had graphic glitches, wondered at first if it was just me (my amiga) or the vampire, was quite subtle, still playable.

Hi, i have a question about the Vampire 500 v2. I have an amiga with 512 Kb chip ram!  Do i need more chip ram to Run whdload or can i start the Program while i have a Vampire

The Vampire doesn't add any chipmem. Thus, if the program requires more than 512K chipmem, you won't be able to run it. That being said, there are plans to reimplement the chipset inside the FPGA. If this becomes reality, you will be able to use 2 of the 128MB of the Vampire as chipmem. For the time being a chipmem expansion could make sense for you.

"you will be able to use 2 of the 128MB of the Vampire as chipmem."

Is there a reason chipmem cannot exceed 2MB ? I know there was never an Amiga that had anything higher than this - but i would be kind of useful for things like Trackers or Samplers. Would properly behaved software support higher values ?

Some will point out you can set 8MB ChipMem in WinUAE but if no real Amiga ever had 8MB chip my hopes for software "behaving" would be very low.
If you dig into it, the A4000 was "prepared" for 8MB chip but the limitation that makes it impossible is in the AGA chip set. So 8MB chip would require adjustments to the AGA chipset.
If and when Super AGA is fully implemented Im sure the 2MB limit will be gone forever but then you better hope your software is updated.

I am using at least 8MB chip in UAE (sometimes more) since years, so far I haven't found a single compatibility problem. Everything which works on 2MB chip AGA configuration continues to run fine with 8MB chip.

Run fine as in "not crashing" is one thing. To actually use the adress space between 2MB and 8MB is another thing. ;-)

I don't think there is and I think it is very likely that the reimplementation would allow up to 8 MB of chipmem.

Workbench can use it. Every system-friendly graphics software can use it.

In my opinion, if Amiga Chips can use Chip memory and CPU can use it also but Fast can be accessed only by CPU- best option is move whole memory space to Chip area. But have no idea it's possible. And, of course, some programs can ask for Fast even 128MB of Chip is available.
