I thought I would resurrect this thread as I've been trying out a load of WHDLoad titles on Vampire. Having been an A1200 owner back in the day, I was used to the fact that OCS games weren't fully compatible and some games wouldn't work no matter what you did. So I have come into this with a perspective that it's okay for the majority of games not to work - but what I would like to see is something that really shows off the power of the Vampire. For that, I've been looking at vector games in particular, and of those, Frontier is clearly a winner. Enable cache and it runs like butter. I haven't run it for very long, as I admit I don't really know how to play it, so I don't know if it remains stable, but first impressions are hugely positive. Outside of the 3D realm, there is clearly a huge benefit to games like Civilization that require CPU resources. The initial world set up is done in seconds. I was absolutely stunned by how quick it was! It used to be a case of going away and getting the kettle on for a cup of tea while the A1200 chugged away. It would be really great then, if there is a way to make the likes of Interphase, Infestation and Midwinter 2 run. Also Guardian AGA - that runs, and is even playable, but there are diagonal bands across the screen that makes it difficult to see what's going on. Interphase briefly works before exiting with the error: 'Exception "CHK,CHK2 Instruction" ($2018) at $CE6C010 occurred'. Infestation gets all the way to the initial menu but when I enter the game itself it exits with the error 'Exception "Integer Divide by Zero" ($2014) at $93B0 occurred'. Midwinter 2 simply freezes; it does not enter the game at all, so there is no clue I can give as to what the problem is. Falcon exits with DOS Error #205 (Object not found). Has anyone had any success in running these games?
