Problem Flashin New Vampire 1200

Hi, I got a new Vampire 1200 from Relec.

I am trying to flash to the latest core release using the Quartus software.  I am getting an error:

Started Programmer operation...
Configuring device index 1
Device 1 contains JTAG ID code 0x020F50DD
Configuration succeeded - 1 device(s) configured
Can't recognize silicon ID for device 1.  A device's silicon ID is different from its JTAG ID
Operation failed
Ended Programmer

Any ideas? I am following the guide on the wiki.  I have the USB blaster driver installed.  I used this same USB blaster/cable to flash my Vampire 500 successfully...

I tried R12 and R13 (for V1200 obviously) both give the same error.

This is an Escom/AT A1200HD with 40MB drive installed.  If I just try to boot with the vampire installed I either get a green screen or black screen.  Card is pushed in all the way.

I see a blue LED on the vampire and the "V" logo is lit up in red on the card itself.  Card is revision 1.3.

Thanks!
Darren

Before updating the core.. Your system worked ok with the card inserted?

Hi, if red LED is always ON then flash is erased on the card completely so no core there to boot. If V logo is ON then there might be core inside. Can you try to flash older releases for V1200.

Thanks yes the red "V" is on and the blue LED is ON.  Power LED on A1200 flashes and hard drive on A1200 internal IDE tried over and over to start...

I will try to flash again with the same laptop I used to flash my Vampire 500.  I was using different laptop, and I had initial trouble installing USB blaster driver, although I believe I got it installed correctly after booting Windows 10 with driver verification disabled (advanced startup).  USB blaster driver was showing in device manager and "working"...so probably not the issue but I will try.

This is stock Escom A1200HD/40 with original hard drive attached, I was wondering if there was some conflict.

A few times, after resets, the A1200 would boot using internal HD to workbench and the red "V" logo was OFF.  But from initial power on the blue LED and red "V" are lit, but then A1200 power led flashes and hard drive tries to spin up then stops (constantly).  And then the Quartus error....

Will try again tonight.

It looks like the issue is resolved.  I gently pushed the card out 1-2mm from the edge connector and it booted first time, off the A1200 internal hard drive.

I will try to flash it too.  Thanks to Henryk for the suggestion!

Ok, programming via the USB Blaster is still failing, but the Vampire is booting and working still.  Have to investigate further.
