I have been lurking and reading a lot of interesting things in here for awhile now,and yesterday even more. The reason for that was of course the arrival of "the package" and mother of all the delayed xmas gifts for a nerd like me.

I signed up for V4 Standalone around summer/fall of 2020,and it did look like it was "in stock" at that time,so did not expect the wait,but I did not mind it at all. Some month passed by, like most of that year for most people,and then suddenly it was my turn.

It will be important to explain one thing first: I grew up knowing about C 64/128,Amiga,Mac and those,but in 1994 my dad bought a 486SX,with msDOS 6 and windows 3.1. To this very moment in time I had only tested a real Amiga one time early 90`s and then game only,and a few more times at friends in mid 90`s. Always just games. Around here everyone was on the PC-bandwagon and it was only very few that had an Amiga,and even less who used it as anything more than a system for gaming.

Long story short: I grew up with windows,but when I got my own computer I entered the world of Linux/Unix-like systems. Amiga in later years has for me been just exploring emulators and such,until last year when I bought an Amiga 1200. It came without anything except psu,mouse and a 1084S + one original game (that even require a lot more power to run than this machine got) . The only thing I`ve done with this machine is to power it on and see that it worked. I was about to order Ram-expansion and CF with OS,but realized it would be better to wait until I either can get the Standalone or the Vampire for 1200. The standalone came first,and I must say to everyone involved in this project,it is impressive.

I have no experience other than with emulation how the other "bulked up" Amiga`s back in the old days did perform,but I`m sure that this must have really made many Amiga users impressed. If I understand it correctly there is even more to come which is so awesome.

When reading the post about the great work Willem Drijver has done on a good working bootloader is also for me of course an amazing addition to this hardware. Now I really need to buy a big storage of some sorts to really try it out.

I do have a few questions I just might as well put out there right away as I have not (yet..) found an answer to it.

1. Is there any way to use SSH with any of the OS that runs on the Standalone? I guess there was some SSH-1 to some PPC Amiga`s,or something in the past.. I found something about it somewhere,but lot of post online on this was old,and even on some of them it was commented that the SSH-implementation discussed there was even at that time outdated. So I do understand that this might not even be possible. I still have to ask to see what others have experienced going down that "rabbit hole" .<< (pun intended indeed)

2. If no on question 1, is there rsh or any other way an        X11-forwarding from another computer on a local network can happen?

3. Am I right to believe there might be a working X11 to be used on this hardware?

4. I have not opened my Standalone,but I`m I right to assume there is an IDE (44?) to CF-card adapter with cf-card (of course) in there as the storage ?

5. Does anyone have experience in any IDE to ssd/m.2-sata-adapter solution in it? More because of storage space than performance of course.

I'd bet you could find SSH clients in pre-configured distros (like AmiKit or Coffin or ApollOS).

HINT:  You can have them all on a single CF card, please check for V4 BootLoader.

X11 is on AmigaOS 4.1, via AmiCygnix.

I wouldn't expect X11 layer on AmigaOS3.x

I had a look at my order and its 32GB. Then again, I see that it would still be enough for a V4BootLoader setup.
