V1200 and Delivery to UK

Looking likely that a year long wait may be coming to end as I am mid Jan 2020 with my expression of interest.

In the meantime, we have Brexited (not my choice) - will this affect costs for me, specifically import duty/VAT, as we are no longer members of the EU?

How are the parcels sent - are they custom declared or sent as gifts?

Although the rules are confusing in the UK at present, I did read that custom duty is paid on goods over £390 and currently (with exchange rates) the V1200 is about £400 - which could equate to another £80 in VAT at 20%.

  Hope this all makes sense!

I don't know how will things be in the future but I can tell that for now postal service from me to UK worked good. I did send there few cards this month and no one reported me problems.

Thanks for your response - I was just wondering what sort of customs declaration you put on the parcel and I assume you have to write the value?  Butt that's good to know - thanks.

Another quickie - if I just slot the V1200 into my 1200, do I need to do anything special or will it just work like my 030 accelerator?  Are there any needed libraries to be in place first like on an 060?

You can tell I'm looking forward to this - fastest Amiga I had was an 040 1200 back in the day and V1200 is something miraculous!

We have tried to make plug and play like card so nothing else is needed only to have Amiga 1200 in perfect conditions. Same goes for power supply unit.

A1200 was recapped a few years ago and I have a Power Box power supply (ATX power supply wired for use with the Amiga) that I used to run my old 1200 040.  I haven't used the Power Box for many years, alongside a number of different Commodore supplies.  Now I am wondering if my Power Box being as old as the Amiga either needs replacing or recapping too!
