Hello!

Just got my V4+. Unfortunately it seems to be broken? It just keeps resetting (rebooting) over and over. Even with the CF card removed.

Its a Version 4, written on the CF-card. Nr 513 written inside.

What I have tried.

* Different power supplys -  No effect
* Removed the preinstalled CF-card - No effect
* Tried with a different CF-card - No effect
* Re-flashed using USB blaster with latest Release4 7754 - No effect.

Is my V4+ a DOA? Is there something more to test?

Have you tried a different power cable?

I would also try removing the v4 board from the case and make sure the cf adapter is well mounted. maybe something is shoring the motherboard out?

Yea I had a problem with my RealtimeClock module shorting against the metal casing, a bit of duct tape fixed that.

Hi! Yes, I forgot to write that. We tried removing the board from the case and running it. Still the same problem.

Hej Tryggye,

I believe you have bought an USB-BLASTER with your V4.
Please note that the Blaster comes with its own USB-cable,
and also the V4/PowerSupply comes with an USB cable.
They look the same! But are not the same!

Please make sure to use the power cable with the V4.
This cable should be longer.

The Blaster cable is only a data cable not a power cable.
And when you accidently mix them up, then the V4 can reboot a lot.

We noticed that some people accidently mixed up the cables and got this problem. We will add a note to our included manual to help avoid this.

Cheers

Hello!

Thanks for the tip.

I checked and I'm using the correct cable. Is there anything else I might try. Or should I return the V4? Options?

The exact boot behavior is:

With no CF card: Boots up until the Apollo OS screen asking for media, then it reboots after just a second or two.

With the shipped CF card: Boots up and seems to start accessing the CF-card for a second or two. The reboots again.

The patterns repeats in cycles seemingly in an endless loop.

Tryggve, actually our V4 should be OK.
Every V4 is tested for about 30minutes under stress.

And all interfaces where measure.
For example your exact card measure 11.3 MB/sec IDE speed.

I would like debug this with you.
Can you come to our discord support channel please?
I think the quick direct chat in the support channel is much faster and will make this easier.
