Vampire V4 - Boot Issue

Hey folks,
Received V4 last week, but only got around to trying it this week, but appears to have a boot issue.
Stuck on the Apollo OS 'please insert ide boot drive message'. Was under the impression that the CF card was preinstalled ready to go, but want to rule that out before thinking there is any kind of issue with the adapter etc.
Am I right in assuming its just a matter of grabbing the image from the downloads section and writing it to the card, or is there any other image I should be using for initial testing ?

Thanks

I also received my V4 last week.

No boot at all (no message "insert ide ...").

I just reflash it and install ApolloOS on the CF and it works OK

Sounds like maybe the CF got loose during the transport.
When a parcel is kicked once around the world this could happen.
Maybe yu can open your V4 to check this?

If CF got loose in the CF plug you can gently put it back.
If the CF2IDE connector got disconnected from the IDE plug, then
please NOT replug it while the card is in the casing.
Please remove the card from the case and put it on a soft surface like cork before you replug the CF2IDE adapter.
Make sure its perfectly "aligned" and plugged in the center of the port. If are unsure about this then not do this.
Please mind that wrong plugging the adapter can cause a short, harming the electronic.

Cheers Michael and Gunnar.....Will check it out after, hopefully is just a reinstall on the card required. Had enough headaches with dodgy IDE adapters on real hardware in the past.

Looks like the image on the CF card needed to be re-imaged at the very least, as the CF appeared to be completely empty.
Done that, but the main desktop was corrupted and unusable.
Not sure if there was some incompatibility at work between the latest release of the OS and whatever core the V4 shipped with, but ended up having to flash to the latest release in order to resolve it.

Not exactly working out of the box, but got there in the end I think. Just need to find the time now to check things out.

What number was written on your PCB and your CF?

Hey Gunnar,
PCB is #461.
CF is a 32GB upgrade. Just has 3 wrote on it.

Hey Stephen,
The written number on the disk shows which release both the V4 and CF-Disk were both set to.
If you upgrade the CF to release 4 then please also update the V4 to release 4.
