Hi All,

I was going to make a big video about the Vampire but never had the time. I did have time to make some short video's benchmarking it. I didn't want to use synthetic benchmarks as they have been done before. This is a more "real-world" benchmark that shows the rendering speed of Captive II: Liberation's wall textures.

It shows the time taken for the A1200, 68040@25MHz and the stock 68020 @ 14MHz.

Nice video, thanks for this.  So it shows the Vampire is 4x as fast as a 68040 in this particular test!  Very good.

Thanks :) And about 27x faster than the stock A1200! I did record for 4 and a half hours waiting for that to finish LOL

I wanted more "real world" tests because synthetic benchmarks are, well, synthetic. This gives a small indication on how well the Vampire works on an actual workload.

Yes.  Do you have a 68060 to test it against? It would be interesting to see.  I would assume the Vampire may be 1.5 to 2x faster.

Unfortunately not, the stupid prices of those things are well out of my league these days!
