Idiot's Guide to A1200 Vampire

Call me stupid but I'm lost.

I've got a vampire a1200 and installed it, connected to my TV through scary and DIGITAL-VIDEO

Do I need coffin OS to use it? The reason I ask is I plugged my hard drive into the vampire but it just sits on kickstart 3.0 floppy.

When hard drive is plugged into normal.ide it sits on a blank workbench screen.

What happens when you have the HD installed on mainbaord and boot without Startup-sequence?

I had problems with my 3.9 install when I switched to my Vampire 1200. I downloaded and used Coffin and it worked okay.

I then done a fresh install with 3.9 and that then worked fine.

There must be something loading with my old 3.9 install boot sequence that was causing problems. No idea what though.
