Ordering Question

Sorry if this is out of place, I don't see a more appropriate forum.

I received an email regarding ordering the Vampire V4 a little over a week ago and responded, and haven't heard anything back after specifying what I would like to order.

Since this is a fairly unique ordering process for an absolutely unique product I have no idea if that is normal or not, or what to expect in terms of a response. I'd hate to think I'd done something wrong and lost my place in line somehow.

It could take up from one to two months until you receive an email asking you to pay. Depending on availability. sometimes it could take slightly less or more.

Thanks much, sorry again just not used to this kind of ordering process.

When did you state your interest in particular?

I ask because I am waiting, too.

I stated my interest on V1200 on March so be patient.

I submitted my interest in May... so it's been about a month. I think it has always been slow and now supply chain issues have really disrupted things.

I received an email 3 weeks ago stating my V4 was ready and asked for my mailing address. Payment details were also mentioned. I replied and have not received a response. Normally I would get an email response with the total payment required and a PayPal email address. I am not sure what is going on here.

I expressed interest on 9th Jan. I imagine theres a backlog due to covid etc

But does this backlog that you mentioned, have any strict rules of processing, too?

Or at least, sensible means to catch up with the actual status?

Or else, it became disclosed or even random, at all?

At least, you could check your status...

No status check for V4SA clients...

Just wondering, when in Jan did you express interest?

Was it before the 9th?

I've never been more paranoid of missing an email...

Do you refer to June?
I think the delay is much larger than that.

But due to this horrible order process there is no way to tell if you're on the list or not. Even the V2 order process is much better. Sad but true.

In the meantime I gave up on the product when I finally decided to buy it after following it with interest for some years. Gunnar is not even answering my emails anymore.

Both V4 and V1200 are produced and send out.
But due to Corona shipping of cards was delayed and to some countries even impossible for some time.
Please have a little patience and please not send emails where you are on the list.

If the team has to answer 500 emails, where one is on the list then this will need so much time that sending out system will only be delayed more.

Hi Mirijam.. it would be nice if there was some "self service" way for people to check (like the old v500 v2) where you could enter your email address and see your status.. I personally have not sent emails or tried to contact anyone for exactly the reasons you mention .. but if there is anyway to setup something like that it might help .. personally I have no idea if I am actually "on the list" or not (I entered my email address for the v4sa but didnt get any kind of positive confirmation it was successful or not) .. an automated system would I am sure deflect a lot of those emails and help us get a bit of assurance notifications aren't going to junk mail or missed etc .. (I know I check daily) ..

I feel exactly the same.  Because the waiting is a long time, which I fully appreciate the reasons why, it would be horrible to discover that even though I registered interest, my email address had not actually been stored.  I've had an experience like that before when something went wrong with the web page and my message was lost, but I did not know this at the time! So this concern comes from experience.

I dont think it would be a real concern if say the waiting period was two weeks.. but when you are talking months, only to find out you have to start at the back of the queue because of some technical issue is heart breaking.

The current situation for the V4SA order process is really annoying.
Why don't you even send out a confirmation of the registration?

Even the order process for the V2 accelerators seems to be handled much better.

Maybe take a look how the Ultimate64 guy has handled his production. Easy to understand and at least some kind of information in which batch one'e order is in.

Absolutely!  This has been my concern all along.  How do I know the ordering system has logged my interest and I'm actually in the queue?

As Markus B stated, when ordering the Ultimate64, which I did by the way, this is completely different experience.  I had no concerns my order was lost and was happy to wait for it.  I, like many others just want reassurance our interest in the V4SA has been logged in the system.  This is perfectly understandable and reasonable.  It's not saying that we expect to be notified our V4SA is ready and awaiting payment within an unrealistic time scale, just that we want confirmation that our interest has actually been registered.

I must not keep re-iterating myself on this subject.  I am sure the Vampire team are aware of what is being said here, but the lack of feedback is a little disappointing.

Hopefully one day soon we will all be happy with our units just like the Spectrum Next people have been after a very long but worthwhile wait.
