| As per title. The only PSU that has worked so far with my Vampirized 1200 is an old A500 heavy duty brick. The one that came with the 1200 (lightweight version) sons;t stand up to the duty however I ordered this one: EXTERNAL LINK Guess what, my miggy refuses to collaborate with the V1200! The PSU itself is tested to work with a bare unit or even when an ACA1232 is connected. Any idea why the Vampire is so picky with PSUs? Could I do anything about it ATM?

| The A1200 PSU is awful, mine bricked in '93 and I've been using an A500 brick since then.

| Are you sure that it is exactly the same model that you have used with your V1200? In that case what could go wrong with mine? Would it be the PSU, the A1200 mobo or the Vampire itself?

Can you describe your problem in more detail? What exactly have you connected and where is it plugged?

| Why run a 30 year old PSU on the most powerfull Acc. The Vampire is taking the PSU to is limit so you will get all kind of fauls.

| Actually there aren't many components to be connected and plugged, I think it's pretty straightforward but of course I will happily elaborate further: when the new PSU (the one from the link) is connected my piggy boots up just like there was no accelerator board connected. It will reach a point when no OS (coffin) can boot properly due to lack of memory and horsepower. Meanwhile, the blue power led of the Vampire is lit but that's all. It stays like this forever. The distinctive red led doesn't come up. That's all. What puzzles me is the fact that a previous V1200 owner can boot properly with the same PSU. I have tried troubleshooting (booting the system with only the V1200 on the mobo and no further accessories/hardware connected) but it hasn't given any result.

| What hardware is installed? Is a CF connected? Do you have a HDD? Where is the CF connected? can you please help us understand your system better?

| Also is it literally the same PSU? or just the same model, have you put a multi-meter to it? Which even if it was reading proper voltages, it may be a different story under load if it's bad. Electronics Age, and Electrolytic capacitors even if they don't leak tend to dry out and quit working properly over time. Has your A1200 been re-capped?

| Either CF or HDD connected to the mobo 2,5". There is no difference whatever medium I choose to boot from. The V1200 ide won't boot after the latest core update (2.12). It just doesn't make any sense.

What do you see? Can you see early boot menu? What happens when you select BOOT with no SS?

| This is definitely not a PSU issue. sounds like something went wrong after update. did it work with the older core x11? can you try it and see if it boots?
