I’m still waiting for my Vampire V4. I still strongly believe in this product and can’t wait to develop really cool shit on it! Vampire forever.

Same here.  Have you paid?  I'm still waiting for the e-mail, but we must remember that the pandemic has slowed everything down, so I am trying to be as patient as possible ;-)

As I and others have said before on this forum, I wish they had the same system as with the V1200 accelerator orders, whereby you can check your order status online.  I guess, the more time they spend creating/modifying a web site the less time is spent on improving the Vampire and AROS.

When did you impress your interest?
I got mine last month and I'm :) worth of waiting. You will have it sooner or later... It is coming.

Now waiting bit more docs for SAGA registers, but good time to refresh Amiga coding skills.

I expressed interest very early in January and never got any confirmation.  I'm trying to be patient and assume that it will come at some point.  Watching the AROS news I'm desperate to give it a try and help test.

To my knowledge, the V4 folks (me included) never received email confirmation. I, too was on the list at a reseller for a while, but when it was apparent the V4 wasn't going through that channel, I expressed interest at the Apollo V4 site. So, waiting..

During this huge Covid lockdown in the USA it would be a great time to learn and develop on the Vampire. That’s what I was hoping to do. But I’m missing the hardware. So sad, no Vampire love for me.

Same here.

I expressed interest yet in March. Via the order tab.

No news since...

I have a V600 V2 and V500 V2, on each order it took 6-8 month or so to be fulfilled after expressing interest on the official site form.

Mind you Kipper was involved with the V600 back then, and Majsta just getting into producing the V500, but still today it's a small team doing a lot of work, some of which isn't their full time job from my understanding.

It's a VERY, very bad policy I presume.  They should thus, simply add an EUR 100 / EUR 150 price tag to the retail price and deliver the stuff on the go, the stuff which is really wanted now.

Such heavy delays in product shipping are only slightly better than facing a not existing product.

I think you have a big misconception of how all this works. Shipping isn't the problem, when they have produced boards they go to people that ordered.

The board construction is difficult from what I've been told in the past a lot of components require manual soldering and the team used to consist of just one person doing this in their free time outside their full-time job. This is a small-time project not something produced by Samsung with thousands of employees.

Why?

In my opinion Igor does this correctly.
The people express interest.
Lets say 300 people do this.
Igor produced and test the cards.
Lets say he finishes 100 cards per month.

When its their turn is on the queue,
then the people will get a payment notice,
they pay, and their V2 is then shipped right away.

I see nothing wrong in this.

As the cards are shipped as soon they are done and the payment arrives.
What will this change besides making the card 150 Euro more expensive for you?

Anyway with the CORONA shipping problems, pakets are not possible to send to some countries.
I think Igor explained this clearly already.
I see no point to complain about this more.

It might - perhaps - speed up the assembly and/or shipping effort, preventing the people from waiting so much.  150 EUR would be for the exchange of the persons' involved (i.e. the Team's) extra spare time, devoted to speed up the process.

Of course, if that's the case, otherwise if COVID-19 is to blame, no much is to be done or improved than just... waiting.

I fully understand your impatience and I hope that in the future the production speed will increase.

As you can imagine the cards need a certain amount of time to build, assemble and also to test.

For the v4 for example we runs a series of test on the card,
we test and measure IDE performance,
we do network transfers,
we test and measure the SDcard interface,
we run several "burn-in" stress test to stress the memory and CPU to maximum.
Also the interfaces, Exp, Joysick, and USBs are tested
In short each card is totally tested and ran under stress for longer period of time.

And as you can imagine for the production of the card many pieces and parts are needed.
AFAIK Igor V2 production is currently on pause because of shipment issues. V4 production does continue as we luckily stocked enough parts.

With Corona everything is a bad chaotic at the moment.
I hope that when this settless the production can be speed up.

I fully appreciate the delays and chaos the Corona virus has caused.  Also, I have always appreciated the time that must be required to build and test the Vampire boards, especially from a small team.

All these things should be understandable by everyone in my honest opinion.

The only point I make, and have made a few times already ;-), is that I wish I had received e-mail confirmation of my order.  After waiting a long time, and now of course with the pandemic, I just hope my order is actually in the system and not lost.  I know it's probably unlikely, but when it's for something as important as a Vampire Amiga, well, this is why many of us are so anxious :-)

Trouble is, expressing interest just puts one on the list - no confirmation, but listed in orders. As long as it is "express interest" card has not been alocatted and mail has not been send. Its simply not ready. And nothing has been paid, so no evil done.

Interest puts one at end of line, and its even longer with Corona delays. Surely, its not the fast as ordinary shopping, but with small runs there is no good way to know (and satisfy) real demand.

You can always check what the base states by resending your e-mail at "Check and manage my interest" side of orders page
  EXTERNAL LINK
Interest page clearly has a warning

"You've been waiting 20 years with a slow Amiga but now you can't stand waiting some months ? This link is for you ! You can now flood our server with status request every 5 minutes."

No amount of money can help instantly as they are assembled, tested and shipped according to interest and not premade products.

Thus, they are NOT not existing, they just havent been made (yet) for you.

Ok, thanks for the link.

But check this out:

No order for that email.
Your SHOULD order one now !

What am I supposed to do now???  I ordered my V4SA two months ago and... Nothing?

Hence Like I said earlier, I would definitely pay more, to get this over.
