Best WB Distribution for Vampire

Hi

What is a Workbench/AmigaOS distribution of your choice for Vampire 2 on A600?

I has been using ClassicWB for a long time but since Gold core I've got a lot of problems and freezes. For example: instant freeze when I try to use Saga display mode, freeze when I start WhichAmiga etc.

These problems are gone when I've installed clean 3.1 WB so I think there is a compatibility problem with some ClassicWB patches/libs/devs etc.
Also I've noticed that WhichAmiga was showing Vampire as LC040, since Gold it shows EC060 - maybe this is a root of the problem? Maybe OS starts to use 68060.library now? Should I get rid of it?

What are your experiences? What do you recommend?
Clean WB 3.1 is the least wanted answer :)

Can I say that clean WB 3.1 is the least wanted answer? Just saying :)

I use ClassicWB 3.9 and it works great for me. Haven't had any instability issues with Gold1. You should not have 68060.library on your machine - it is only to be used for 060s. :)

I'd suggest to either try ClassicWB 3.9 or start with a plain WB3.9 with BB1+BB2 and customize it yourself from there.

I wonder is it possible to use AmigaSYS4 with non-classic option? Amigasys4 based on WB3.9 looks perfect on WinUAE. Can this be run under Vampire?

OS4 is PPC right? Then no. Vampire is a 68k platform.

No, no, AmigaSYS 4 is standard WB 3.x but pre-configured and advanced. Here is the link: EXTERNAL LINK  Look for windows version, or for any other "modern" platform. Looks awesome. Try it on WinUAE. I wonder can I run WinUAE version under Vampire.

AmigaSYS 4 has nothing to do with OS4, it is something like ClassicWB, but just Google it and you will see (you can use it based on OS3.1 or OS3.9). I have never tried it on real hardware, though, and I don't even have a Vampire yet (I only have A500s and A1200), but it would be nice if anyone did, so that we know.

I am surprised you think that, I have found Amikit to be the most modern for 68k but I suppose everyone has their own preference.
