Hi guys,
I have a 6 buttons megadrive joypad. Is it safe to use it with the v4 standalone?Could it break something?

I thought any use of the Megadrive joypad required a wiring change if I'm not mistaken. This is a general Amiga statement, not just a V4.

Its DB9 (old Atari-Amiga-CBM64-Speccy Kempston pin ports)?

I doubt you could get use of so many buttons since most of Amiga games were made to use 1 button style plus eventually autofire, CD32 titles for 2 or 3 keys.

Best use is: if there is MEGADRIVE emulator on Miggy. You can exploit that.

Here is a page that has a pinout of all the major DB-9 joystick ports.

There is some considerable differences.

this is intereseting to use it with my Amiga 1200. Where did you buy the adapter?

Thanks guys for all answers, I tried the pad with the v4 and two buttons work well. I undestand that I need to do a rewire (following the ADOOM guide) in order to work the third button.

The Megadrive controller is usable on the V4 and the V4 will support 2 buttons.
