Original this help call from Phil arrived 23.01.2020:

A1200.Net and Apollo Team partnered to upgrade the V4 SA form factor.

The initial V4 SA was lacking mounting points therefore making it difficult to mount the board in any case.

Apollo Team was able to launch the new Vampire V4 SA board and with updated form factor during Amiga 34 in Neuss.

Since then and despite multiple contacts the Apollo Team failed to provide us with a PCB sample of the updated form factor.

Phil contacted Gunnar again earlier this month with great feedback as usual. No news on PCB since.

Dear partners, certainly you understand this matter of urgency.
Fitting tests are essential to ensure production of 100% compatible cases for your V4 SA.
Lots of backers are looking forward to acquire the V4 SA to set in their new A500 cases,

Thank you for assisting us with this much needed PCB sample.
Regards. The Team.

Why do you not contact gunnar directly or go in IRC?

Phil has 3D models of all parts from us since several month.
These 3D models have highest precision, much more precise than using a yard stick to measure a PCB.
The manufacturing of our own metal cases is based on the same 3D data.

Mind that the Apollo-Team can unfortunately today NOT officially endorse this plastic case.

There are two reason for this:

A) The plastic case design has currently no metal shielding.
Without metal shielding using this case is not really legal.

B) The Keyboard which is planned
for this case was shown not to work with Vampire-V4.

Maybe removing the Vampire from its metal shielding and putting the "naked" PCB into the plastic case is not the right decision, instead leaving the fully enclosed Vampire in the original metal case and putting the complete V4 in the plastic surrounding might be better.

I think both topics need to be addressed before we can support this.
It would be very unfortunate both for the Vampire fans as
also for the Apollo-Team if our users buy such case, and then
end in a semi legal situation without a working keyboard.

A wise man once said:
"we can only give support for stuff we tested working"

This is as true for the Apollo Team as it is for A1200.net.

3D models are fine and maybe it will be perfect on first iteration, but I wouldn't dare sell a case that supposedly fits a specific board (V4-SA in this case) without trying to fit the actual existing board in the case to verify before going into production. I'm sure this process was the same when you designed your metal case.

If the real issue is shielding, then require of A1200.net (and any other potential case maker) to include a shield with the case for use with the V4-SA.

The keyboard is AFAIK still in development, and I'm sure they will try to accommodate any special requirements for it to be compatible with the V4-SA.

Please just try to work together for the common good of the Amiga community.

Please mind, that this requirement is general and not limited to us:
People which use a new A500 PCB in this case, they will need to have a shielding.
People which use a Rasberry Pie in this case, they will need to have a shielding.
...

Yes, but you don't sell A500 PCB's or Raspberry Pi's? Your concern for all potential uses/users of A1200.net's new case is heart warming. Concern for each other is what this community needs.

Us Amiga fans want any company, individual or team who still think that the Amiga community is worth spending time on to succeed. That goes for Apollo Team, A1200.net, Individual Computers, TerribleFire, etc.

Ironic that A1200.net comes here to Apollo's public forum claiming they can't contact Apollo team.

I spent 2-3 months trying to contact A1200.net, with the simple question "what sizes are the screws so I can replace ones I lost?". All I heard was silence.

I think A1200.net people shouldn't be surprised they can't communicate with others, when they've chosen to close eyes and plug ears.

Does that mean that retailers like Vesalia must sell the V4SA with a metal case and not just the board on it's own? I also saw that they have listed an acrylic case for the V4 although that's unavailable. I'm assuming that can't be used with the V4 either.

Of course not, as just a board it's just that, a board, a part. You can sell parts. Selling complete electronic device is different.

Well if Vampire/Apollo team are shipping full units with case, CF card and etc to Vesalia and they're breaking it down to the bare board and selling the components separately isn't that shady in some way?

Well if the moon is made of cheese then can't we eat it?

Pointless question. Stick to real world events, not imaginary ones.

How long the moon has been here I wouldn't advise eating it.

Hasn't this been happening? I'm just going off prior discussions...

At Vesalia? no. They don't do that. They don't even sell V4 or 1200 V2 at all.

Metal casings are needed to reduce/remove the potential RF signals that can be produced from a high frequencies that computers use. I understand that you only need to worry about that if you are selling a complete unit - i.e. a complete computer. I am under the impression that if you sell it as a kit you don't have to worry about RF shielding either.

"Without metal shielding using this case is not really legal." Not exactly right, selling the _case_ is perfectly fine without shielding. Otherwise how are all those pretty much all glass PC cases being sold? If the Apollo-Team decided to sell the Vampire with the case (as a consumer product) then it would need to meet emission standard of which shielding is one way to accomplish that.

There is nothing illegal about selling the case without shielding, there is nothing illegal about a hobbyist buying a naked Vampire board and stuffing it in said case.

I might be misunderstanding your post, but I don't see how, I bought my V4SA from - Vesalia. So they very much sell them.

This is not correct.
Yes you can legally sell the case without shielding but turning electricity on is not allowed. The problem is 100% shifted to the user.

The "glass PC" cases a fine print manual - stating clearly that the case is only for demonstration and not for usage!

Gunnar in real life that doesn't matter. Police don't bust down your door for owning an unsheilded computer.

V4SA and V2 1200 are listed as "to be announced" and "just to gauge interest"so i don't know how you bought it from them.
