We are working now with the V1200 blitter timing. When it's done, we'll come back to this.

Hmm, you mean closely interleaved access between Blitter / CPU (e.g. BLTPRI=0 case) ?

i just upgraded to the newest WHDLoad version, and i don't need to mess around with settings, it flies.  :)

although AB3D always crashes after completing the first level

Hi! My V1200 has arrived. Some questions: how can you use the V's IDE port without any conflict with the keyboard? :) Is there a good cf-ide convertert that fits in that litte space, or a loooong ide cable should be a solution? After booting with a desintegrated machine there is some other issues :)
The click area of mouse pointer is somewhere in a different dimension :) Is there a fix?
There are some (many) flickering pixels in the vga output... the rtg is okay. I hope it's not a HW fault.

with the new core will these be gone?

Sounds more like that for some reason your PC lost connection to the USB Blaster.

Thanks God it's not a brick :) After removing the IDE-CF stuff with the coffin card the flashing was successful. I've intalled the new vampiregfx.card driver (for mousefix), but none of the whdload games could be started. I'm using an offline system but the whdload wants to do things with the roadshow stuff,so I've removed the related line from the whdload startup :) Now  everything is fine.

Hi, I've received my V1200 yesterday. I've flashed it with the last core with pcmcia support (V1200x12_r7342_Gold212RC3). I've a lot of problem with demos and games under whdload. Many of them crash with numerous error message. Is the Apollo team is interested by a list of programs and error messages ? Thanks a lot for your amazing work :)

The Apollo guys are aware, as we have had them a while, and talk about them openly on here.

take it from me, you might think the X12 core isn't great, but it's FAR more useable than the X11 core it shipped with.

Make sure your using the newest version of WHDload, i changed mine to the newest build, and alot of games strarted flying.

It's a work in progress, and it was like this with early builds for the V600, and the guys worked through them, i think now there are only 3 games that don't work with the Vampire, They are working on the issues, i have faith they will sort it, the speed increase to the new X12 update was tremendous. Here are some of the things i have found.

Breathless : Won't run
AB3D : Wont run, crashes machine
AB322 : Runs, gfx glitches and sound issues.

Most of the other issues appear to be turtle mode, for example Hard Drivin' is blisteringly fast, and i mean rocket ship fast, yet Hard Drivin' 2 crawls along, at stock machine speeds, SOTB3 is kinda slow, although some games like Buggy Boy are cartoonishly fast.

it will all come out in the wash.

:)

Speaking again of the V1200 Gayle PCMCIA/IDE conflict:

Did you guys consider to map the V1200 IDE as an A4000 IDE controller? (DD1000-DD3FFF base).

This way, there wouldn't be any resource conflict, and probably a feasible solution to get the system booting from the V1200 IDE.

Can you make a test core with maps the V1200 IDE this way? I would like to see if I can get the A4000 scsi.device working with this HW implementation.

i've just flashed my V1200: Big improvement. Now DeluxeGalagaAGA works. Nexus7 demo now works longer before crash. The previous core didn't allow to see more than the first 2 scenes. Great job  :)

Repling to myself ;-). It's apparently in the package under \pcmcia folder :-)

-> Load/include A4000 scsi.device instead of A1200 scsi.device = fast IDE & PCMCIA

No need to mess with A1200 Gayle just for IDE functionality.

i downloaded the zip, only the "PCMCIA friendly" (7258) core has been updated (7389), the V1200 core that use Vampire IDE is the same version as the last release?
