Ah that explains how writing to indivision flash works then. I assumed he was doing something like the old plugin graffitis did.

It's a shame to hear about the trouble you had with Indivision MK1. People like it much better than MK2, which Jens released with missing/broken features he promised to fix and then never did.

Repeating history of all Jens products.

I'm not sure how Jens count, but I think I tested (only a quick test) the MK2 (first revision) but there are also many MK1 out there. EXTERNAL LINK
No real problem for me because I prefer the Schubert D520 and there are no problems at all with this flickerfixer, but there are many Indy Users out there. Better you ad this information at the buying side.

On the other Hand - Jens is planing a MK3, if this model is not compatibel to the V1200 he will get a problem.

He will just blame vampire team. He already spreads fud calling vampire only 30% compatible. Of course, he's planning an extremely expensive ACA1260...

Sure. Incompatibility of the MK1 would have meant more people buying his MK2 despite already having the MK1.

He can try this way, but I think he is smarter. His sells would go down anyway. The pullfactor of the V1200 is much bigger than a MK3 flickerfixer.

Jens knows that he can't act completely disconnected from the market. On the one side is the V1200 and on the other side the Warp1260 from Poland. With these competitors he is fighting for limited spending budget.

The problem is that he should have come out with ACA1240/1260 much earlier. I was waiting for it from him at the beginning and did not understand why he develops the ACA1230s instead of 1240/1260. Now an FPGA based accelerator like the V1200 has much  more sense and I would rather spend the money on it.

You give him the benefit of the doubt, but I'm going on his past and present behavior. If you remember the egos and weirdos of the WarpOS/PowerUP and then Red vs Blue wars, he's the same kind of figure. He's already acting as a proxy fighter in Hyperion - Cloanto war, threatening to close his business and quit amiga forever if Cloanto win in court. unnecessary, self destructive and childish, but it's always so.

I'm unable to understand Jens.

Quite some time ago the Apollo-Team did propose to Jens,
if Jens does not want to produce and sell the V1200 card range.
Our reasoning was that with combined production capacities
the users can sooner get their cards and for him it would have been a good business.

Jens was not really interested in doing this
and his ideas of giving the users a card with
"artificially turned off features"  and selling
the customer "licenses" to turn on features like FPU, AMMX, or part of the memory for extra cash - this did not find our agreement.

Something like ACA1260 should happen 15 years ago with all licenses and ownership he did buy. He had knowledge, funds and all resources needed to do it. For him making such accelerator was always piece of cake. Only reason why he is doing that now is because V1200, because this project pushed him. At the time I was mad, in first place, started my work with big questing mark over my head, why we are stuck with same things for ages. Icomp would continue to made 020/030 accelerator cards for next 20 years as only available option on the market, without any desire to push harder up to 060 accelerators. Why would they, they had secured market where all the rules were created by them. Why go higher when you can manufacture what you already had before with minimum effort, because there is no competition and when you persuaded everyone that they don't need more. Last line of defense was trapdoor connectors. After several years of big fight we have managed to make them and made us independent and in position to shake Amiga land first time since Phase5 did it.
Truth is ACA1260 is late, I can tell that by reading Icomp forum where I can see several topics who are Vampire related, where I can see that his last line of defense is to claim that Vampire is only 30% compatible and that this is not real accelerator by the terms how they see it. OK, someone then asked there, if Vampire is not real accelerator why did you use FPGA on your devices? Funny how forum discussions progress. In today's situation where you can see awesome design from Warp team and awesome progress of TerribleFire I m afraid the there won't be room for anything else in terms of price versus performance. I welcome all of them including ACA because competition will move us even more but I will repeat what I said. Only person I could think of, who had everything to save Amiga was Jens. Instead he did make choice to keep things like they are, to not disturb surface of the muddy water to offer only enough to keep things alive instead making brave step to bring us out from the mud. Yes, we are strong, because our knowledge sits on the shoulders of giants before us. Jens is giant regarding knowledge and have my respect for that but our vision is different. I want to see new Amiga alive and in every house. Think big, satisfy somewhere in the middle, that's what I know.
Did we talk to him, yes, several team members did but he didn't showed any kind of respect to us. Maybe we didn't deserve it anyway but his words were mostly like obey and follow every rule I propose or be gone because I m the owner of Amiga land and no one can enter without my permission. Story was very dirty and maybe some day I will talk about that, now I don't feel that I should.

When the demand for vampires drops, you can write a book I definitely would buy one. :)

Back to topic - the Indy MK2 works - was my fault.

Demo makers will buy 060 accelerators for their Amiga, they’re not interested in  Vampire and it is too bad but they’re interested in fixed platforms.
If the V1200 had a compatibility mode to mimics exactly an 060 maybe it’ll would have been enough.

I've tested Alien Breed 3D 2 with the latest beta core that Simo posted and  I've got sound and gfx issues. The sound in the game it selfs scratches a little bit and there are some GFX issues at the frame around the 3d window.

@Michael AMike something is wrong with that core because it is X12 and I think that comparing to X11 build of same revision something went wrong regarding chip bus access. At least that bustest shows me. Anyway I hope that soon we will have official version of the core who will fix those problems.
Thank you for reporting problem, I m sure it will be gone soon.

Well, in the last two years Amiga Land changed a bit, and nobody gives a shit about the "old Kings" anymore.

It almost pitied him when I saw him standing there in the evening at Amiga34, seeing that people have lots of fun and life goes on without him and his products being there, because of his lame boycott.

I really liked both versions of the ACA500, but these days I don't see me buying anything from him anymore.

There are just too many better options these days.

And if AROS really gets a viable option for 68k Amigas, I see a similar thing happening to Hyperion and Amiga OS.

He actually showed up to look at A34, even with his boycott?

the man can't help himself, he's pathetic

Was really weird, seeing him there.
I guess he thought that everybody would panic, or that they would cancel the whole event just because he decided to bail out.

In reality, it was the best Amiga event since the early nineties, people had a lot of fun and there were tons of amazing products to be seen.

I've received my Vampire 1200 last week an I tested it at weekend at me A1200. I've try to flash (using command VampireFlash314) the kickstart 3.1.4 to the V1200 but I get an error thats can't flashed. Mapping of the kickstart (using command VampireMap314) works fine.
With my Vampire 600 V2 command VampireFlash314 works very well. Is this a known issue or is a differnd command needed for flash the kickstart 3.1.4 to Vampire 1200?

Hello, lucky V1200 owners!
Can anyone finally post the summary of the device functionality/experience?
Something beyond the boot-screens videos, and sexy card pictures!
As a lot of questions are still a mystery:
    1) How does the DIGITAL-VIDEO video output works?
    2) Does it have a sound through it?
    3) Is it possible to display AGA trough DIGITAL-VIDEO?
    4) Do we need "dual output" (similarly to V600) to display RTG+AGA?
    5) What is the IDE port access speed experience? Is it really faster?
    6) And, in general, - what else do we get besides of the processor power?

Please, do not keep the silence! The ones in the waiting list are desperate for the information!

Thanks and regards!
