Some information update:

For the Vampire-V4 Standalone we started to test USB Joypad support.
The USB Joypads support is experimental so far.
No driver needs be installed the Support is fully in HW.
The Vampire maps the USB Joypad as "Amiga" Joystick,.
This means no driver needs be installed
and even all old games can immediately use the USB Stick.

These model are tested to work with Vampire4

    Speedlink Thunderstrike SL-6515

With the exception of CD32 games Amiga software assumes keyboard and mouse are always available unless dual joystick is selected instead the mouse. How are port assignments handled with keyboard normally using one of the USB ports?

I AM glad about it, but unless you enable db9 Mouse as def mouse port, there Is no place to plug it in.

Currently, hubs dont Work.

Yes this is correct.
As of today HUBS are not supported.

But yesterday JOYPADS were also not supported at all. ;-)

And today JOYPADS start to work well.
I successfully played several levels of Bubble Bobble :-D

Please understand this threads as "activity report".
I like to involve you in what we doing and what
we are working on and what progress we made today.

No wonder development is slow slow.  Testing is very thorough. ;)

Looking forward to "welcome to tomorrow" (bad new Snap! song).

Well, I might just NOT need to have DB9 Comps pro/Blue Star. Have USB ones from x1000/PeeCee adventures.

More good news.

I have Logitch's F710 wireless.

Hopefully, they can be added in the future.

Alas, how to connect joystick??  V4SA has two USB ports, one for mouse, another for keyboard.

And which firmware BTW?

Test Firmwares are as always available in the V4 support Slack channel.

Thank You for the clarification.

Please quote the channel name - despite my Vampire is now outdoors, I will try to join the channel over the weekend.

Very cool!

How are analog sticks handled?

I tried to login on Slack for last 30 minutes.

I deleted Slack local, will never use it again.

This is the most pathetic ICT service I know for ca. 30 years and no one will make me use it again.

A pity that Apollo Team uses such thrash applications as an application of choice as I am kindda forced to be offline from multiple important matters.

I will remain available thru IRC, that's for sure.

They work too. :D
On those Gamepads that I tested you can move with the "Arrow" and the Analog stick.

And today another stick was added to the supported list!

Makes me wonder how long it will be until it will be hard to find a stick/pad that does not work. After all there can't be an infinite number of varying USB protocols...

Just curious, does the USB Joypad support emulate Analog Joysticks?  Could I read the analog data at POT0DAT and POT1DAT?

Dear Gunnar, how likely is it that one day there will be full compatibility with a CD32 gamepad via USB Joypad? It would be a great buying argument for the stand alone version Vampire as the CD32 pads are simply too expensive.  greetings Jan
