I have been browsing these forums for long enough and finally decided to actually create an account and post/contribute where I can if at all possible.

I purchased my Vampire 500 V2+ about maybe a year ago I think. It sits happily in my beloved Amiga 500 and has really provided a lot of enjoyment to me over the course of time that I have owned it.

I just wanted to make my first post a simple "thank you" to everybody involved in this project. I am in the USA (Northern NJ) and was luckily enough to have a lot of exposure to the Amiga computer growing up. I purchased my first Amiga (a 500!) in the Willowbrook Mall here in NJ at a store called "The Program Store" in 1989 for a whopping $699. Well, it was whopping to my parents at least. To this day I still do not know what I said to convince them to spend that much on me...but I am glad they did!

I expected to be using this computer "forever" in those younger days. Later in life, I moved on. But I never lost the love for it and came back many years later (over 20 years later) to re-investigate my former passion. Never did I expect something like this incredible FPGA acceleration to happen to my old friend!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and thank you all for the hard work you have invested into this. It is wonderful and extremely special.

Welcome Bruce.  My story is very similar.  I’m down in Cherry Hill, NJ.

There's the Westchester NY Amiga group (AmigaBill, The Guru Meditation on YouTube is a member) is up near NYC. Ever go to their meetings? I keep toying with it but it's usually on a Thursday night and that's a pretty far drive for a weeknight for me but might be more reasonable for you.

Thursday night would be tough for me too on a work week. Unless I took a day off during the week it might not happen....but who knows. I would love to attend one. I saw the youtube video with the Vampire presentation with Manny...that was great.

Do they post a calendar for their meetings somewhere?

Not that I've seen. You might want to just reach out to AmigaBill directly. He's on Facebook as well...

I will. Thank you for the heads up. Maybe one day we'll meet at one of these meetings. Cheers Mike!
