Wait...you are saying that the V4 have build in...integrated a Zorro III to control the memory?

Oh that is hot!

Don’t think that’s what any of us said. There certainly isn’t a Zorro slot on the board.

Hmmm not sure. Just only the big box machines with zorro3 needed to carve out the 32bit address space for cpu slot, main board ram slots, and card space. The blizzard 1230/1240-60/ppc cards  for the 1200 can have 256meg installed. And even the tf360 for the cd32 is slated to get a 256 meg sized lump of ram. So yeah we’re in the funny situation where the “non-expandable” wedge machines have more potential in this regard than the big box machines, as they’re not held to the same memory constraints.

If a couple more ram chips landed on the vampire, I wouldn’t complain. ;)

Those Sysinfo scores are significantly higher than the V500 - is this an overclocked 'development' core, or will the V1200 run that much faster than the V500 (V1200 uses the same FPGA as the V2 right?)

What do you do with all this memory? The CPUs on m68k Amigas are much too slow to effectively use this. If you are dreaming about some software ports that require 0.5-1 GB memory to run, they won't run on Vampire or any other m68k machine anyway, because these systems are too slow. And we don't want bloated software anyway on our m68k Amigas.

Its all in FPGA now, fast mem bus and since GOLD3 it will have 2-11MB chip (actually fast mapped as chip).

As non team member, I do remember it used newer core, but yet not fully V4 compilant (in between of by LE space). Could it be used for faster core? Probably?
I dislike discrepancy of Which Amiga 78Mhz (x11) and Sysinfo 040
133 Mhz (x18 core?) but Sysinfo speed might be relative to 040.

However, I am sure V1200 has faster RAM then old DDR on V2, so gain there is for sure. As V4 has even faster DDR3.

Can it fit CD32 case or CD32 mobo neads a new case?

As seen in OS4/MOS 32-bit model has a limit of 1.5-2GB RAM depending on what is system/board reserved RAM.

A SO DIMM DDR3 slot on V4+ or v6 Vamp would be more then enough for the future.

For current OS 3.x software 128mb is huge and 512mb on v4 is overkill. Only new apps like Netsurf will be sooo hungry :)

Yes exactly
The game screenshot is from the game
"194x-Deluxe"
which runs on RTG in truecolor and uses AMMX instructions.

Just joined the forum im very exited.. and i would love to get one.. im sure it will be great.  just a question regarding ram, not sure if there is a limitation or not, but im curious and little concerned.. 128mb on 68k system is alot, i agree.. but, now we getting saga and fast cpu, more demanding software will for sure come.. like diablo and others.  so, is it to save costs or some limitation, or just unsolved difficulty for not having 256mb or higher

Great work btw.. looking forward to when i get one

ps.  when registering, it ask for full name or nick name..  nick name did not work.. so i added both..  can you remove freddy_  just want noXLar nick to show.. thanks

Current, V1200 model is advanced V2 design. Later, V4 derrived will come with faster CPU, more cache, full FPU ... and 512MB fast DDR3

To get an overview about all cards,
please click on the "Products" Tap in the Navigation bar.

CLICK HERE

The V500, V600 and V1200 are very similar.

They all have in common:
  * very fast APOLLO-68080 CPU
  * fast Apollo 68080-FPU
  * 128 MB of super fast Memory

128 MB is good for many applications.
For example, the original Diablo 1 game has memory requirement of 16 MB minimum.

The V2 is available as accelerator for existing AMIGAs.
The V600 can put put in an Amiga 600.
The V500 can be put into an AMIGA 1000, AMIGA 500 and AMIGA 2000.
The V1200 can be put in an AMIGA 1200, with changed pins CD32.
Based on the V1200 a version for Amiga 3000 and AMIGA 4000 can be done.

The V4-SA = "Standalone" is targeted to be a new complete AMIGA system.

My lonely un-upgraded "factory stock" A3000 is patiently waiting for this one day..

The V2 design is really great to upgrate all the Amiga at the same standard.

Love it.
yes massively agree, having a good baseline core standard across the board (the V2/2+) is what gets a platform going.

and this is an awesome "baseline" :D

The A3000 could really need AGA and the rest of the goodies that a Vampire offers...
I think the A3000 is the most beautiful of all the Amigas. My personal opinion.
