It's x14 core for the Standalone.

Great, i am just asking beacuse we tested yesterday with X11 and got less benchmark values.. I am glad that the fVDI driver is now working :)

@Simo Koivukoski
  1. Can you explain why 2 benchmarks are lower than CT63-100/SV 185?
  These benchmark are:
  a. Memory and video bus speed
  b. VDI

  2. What is CT63-100/SV 185?

1. a+b comes from the same. Our GFX driver is not optimized. Detailed view of memorytest:

2. It's Atari 68060 @ 100 MHz accelerator.

Hello

Please could you use for CT60 this file result? : EXTERNAL LINK
Why because CT60 can be quite sensible in speed with fine tuning, link to cache management. Kronos load module before start each test so cache can be on near after test is finished and there is several cache option too. Most people using CT60 are able to acheive this results but if I remember this was not the case in your results.

All in STRam is fast compare to CT60 looks logical as STRam on CT60 is Falcon ram access very slow link to the bus.

In all case results looks very nice.

Wait to purchase one !

The CT63-100/SV-185 reference file is a benchmark run i did on my Falcon with the 68060 @ 100 MHz and the SuperVidel with 185MHz clockspeed. Its not really comparable, with NVDI and HDDriver caches on, which Amitari doesn't have. But its my system!

See how much V4 improves over V2 already. The V2 score was done with a beta x12 gold2 core. It had RTG, but no FPU, iirc.

The problem with your result, it is not what we expect to have with CT60 even with Supervidel, only video should be impacted, CT60 at 100Mhz is able to do better than this, no this result are not as expected. I know CT60 is not easy to setup but all people using CT60 have better results than this (generally they use Kronos to setup their configuration)

I'm going to check if I can find some results with Supervidel.

Hi Olivier,

there is one thing which I not understand at this KRONOS result.
In the "memory" Speed details the V4 wins 5 of 6 tests -
some of them by 6000%
The total sum/avg is not winning.

This is little unintuitive to me.
How can this be explained?

Btw:
I am wonder what exactly means gold star (s) below user nick/name and number of posts.
  E. g. Gunnar have one star, but Majsta have 3!
  What does it mean?!?
If this is possible I wish to have some star below my nick - even bronze star...

Hi Gunnar

STRam access is standard ram on ST computer, Falcon shared with video memory, some element like blitter, DMA ...  it is first 16MB of memory on Atari system (2^24). In the case of CT60 falcon it is original falcon memory with 16Mhz bus 16 bit multiplexed (some configuration push system to 25Mhz I think), compare to TTRam that is at higher position, it is the same for vampire on Amiga computer. Most classical programs work in TTRam and not need STRam.

Video test are copy from/to video memory/TTRam or copy from video memory to video memory, result can differ highly from one system to the other as Kronos not access directly to memory but use VDI vro_cpyfm function so depend highly of driver. In the case of radeon card results are very high because driver use video controler to do copy so from video to video it is very high.

In your case for V4 you should look at TTRam access as it is comparable, I don't think STRam is good information as it is not very compatible system and video information depend highly of driver that is limited and slow in Emutos in this case.

  Hope explanation are enough clear

That is a x14 core for the Standalone and FastIDE is enabled.

Is there a power button for the Vampire? Or headers for a power button to be connected?

No. Like on the raspberry pi.

One could maybe power it through the 68k socket?
But it dont know if the V4 is made to have power from USB always or not.

Hi Guys,

I'm interested in designing a 3d printable retro case for the V4 standalone and make it publicly available. Already started as you can see here:

I was wondering if it's possible to get hold of a 3d model of the pcb? (*.step file or similar) that I can import directly into DesignSpark Mechanical. That would help a lot when designing for cut outs. Thanks /JB

Is there any news on when the V4 standalone would be released and how much it should cost?  I am very interested in purchasing one but all the articles I have seen up to now say that they should have been on the market already.

Just so I know how many pennies to put in the jar and how long I have to fill it...

I am going to safely guess its AT LEAST as much as the V2 .. that would be a good safe starting point.. perhaps a bit more (as its mostly the same design save for a slightly more expensive FPGA chip) .. I have no official information just making a good educated guess.

Hi JB, I am using DesignSpark Mechanical as well and I support your idea of making a 3D model of the V4 SA available. May take some time.
