As topic asks is the Amiga 1200 version still planned? The apollo-accelerators.com page hasn't listed it for a long time.

If yes, will it use a Cyclone III or Cyclone V FPGA?

I have an opportunity to buy an A500 and A1200, but can only afford one. I prefer the A1200, but will only get it if i will be able to put a Vampire in it. Preferably the Vampire V4.

AFAIK the A1200 version is still planned, and will be the V4 version with the cyclone V, though that wont be available until Gold 3 is ready.

Depends if you are willing to wait, vampire V2 for A500 already exist,V4 for A500 will be out before any other V4 vampire. If you are willing to wait, then go for A1200, if you want your vampire now, go for A500.

Do you guys think the V4 A500 will still fit in the A1000?
Bit worried the board is now too big to fit although I think I saw the odd early video on youtube?

I think the A1200 version is going to be a stepping stone into the 32bit big box machines. so it's probably an inevitability at somepoint in the future.

I would imagine the A1200 core is going to need:-
cpu bus arbitration like the A600 core as a minimum,
full 32bit data and address lines?

and I'd think the A3k/4k version is going to need the above plus:-
playing nice with autoconfig and Z3 testing

It would be nice to hear an official statement on the progress of Vampire 1200. I know so many of us have been waiting many years for it. :-/  I've almost broken down and paid over $1200 usd to buy an old Blizzard 1260.

As far is it was officially stated, 3000/4000 models were not even planned, because of mentioned small problems.

Once v4 gets stable and out (a500/a600 first, Stadanlone/1200/Cd32
after)that might come to the table. So 2019 or even further.

Quote from original v4 announcement (developers board production)

The Vampire V4 is made with a standard “one design to fit them all” and comes in three flavors depending on customer need:
  - The Vampire V4 Standalone System
  - The Vampire V4 for Amiga Classic compatible with
      - Amiga 1000/500/2000/CDTV
      - Amiga 600 with kippa’s adapter (if produced)
  - The Vampire V4 for Amiga 1200

Personally and that is personal opinion...I would choose V2 for classical Amiga and leave it at that and use V4 for standalone edition.

Besides...having v500 and v600 make sense for the amiga 500 and amiga 600 heheh :D Mixing V4 with classical Amiga to me is like having a pink floor and black walls with yellow ceiling and wooden furniture O_O

But hey..that is me.
